Default ROI Results 5/19 @ Pimlico

The second leg of the Triple Crown is in the books and at the sloppy Pimlico racetrack Justify
proved once again to Bee Bee Bee the best. 4 winning bets were placed and three point slots
were filled. Real Quiet took third with a win / place bet on Forge in the 3rd. Don Guido takes
the number two slot by hitting an exacta in race 8 which payed a pretty generous $14.60
which he had 20 times. The winner of the Preakness Day ROI contest was Joly B. JB also
went the exacta route in race 10 and zoomed on by RQ and DG. Switzerland was not neutral
and firmly in Joly's column and when Long Haul Bay took second Joly came away with $369.
Truth be told had Joly gone the Rainbow Pick 6 route with all of Saturdays scratches I might
still be trying to figure out who won the day. Congrats on the win Joly. Nicely played.
Following are the unofficial results pending any objections. See you all at the gate next
week as we look forward to the Belmont Stakes, Saratoga unveiling the cream of the crop
two year olds, the Travers Stakes and much more. Exciting racing rarely takes a break.

Another truth be told - if I had gone the Rainbow Pick 6 route, Don Guido would have probably been the ROI winner. With the procession of low priced winners, the $.20 Rainbow Pick 6 only paid $41.04. Given the small fields and the likelihood of playing a single with Mitole in the Lang and only going two deep in the Peakness, but going fairly deep in two or three other legs, I probably would have ended up playing the Pick 6 for about $1.00. That would have yielded a positive ROI of about $5 for the $200 wager. I could have just as easily ended up hitting the Pick 6 and losing money in the process if I had tried to cover too many longshot possibilities. It can be a funny game at times.

Congrats to all of the other cashers and thank you RQ for your always illuminating commentary.
