ROI Results 5/30 @ Churchill
As Joly B and Plenilune pointed out in the Points Contest either you were on the mark or very
far off at Churchill on Saturday. In the ROI almost all the players were very far off the mark. It was hard to find a player who just missed with a pick. That being said one player did find a nice paying winner and saved the group from yet another sweep. This weeks winner and the one and only ticket casher was Don Guido. Don played a tri box in race 10 and the 7-8-10 combo returned $20.80 for each 50 cents and DG had a 16 timer worth $332+. Congrats on the win Don. Nicely played. A Fearless pick. Following are the unofficial results pending any objections. See you all next week at the track of Joly B's whimsy. At first I thought JB would have a slam dunk choice but after a closer look ya never know. WIN... Don Guido... +$268.80... R 10: $8 tri bx 7-8-10... $332.80 Real Quiet -$99.00 Roamin -$100.00 Joly B -$100.00 Cal828 -$100.00 Indian Hemp -$100.00 NJ Stinks -$100.00 Ruffian -$100.00 Plenilune -$100.00

Don Guido, congrats on your ROI win on a day when most of us had a lot of difficulty figuring things out. Fearless looks as if he has a future in stakes races.
Real Quiet, on paper the choice of venue for this Saturday looks fairly clear. Santa Anita is offering a card with 7 stakes races, three of which will have grade 1 status. I'm looking forward to seeing Authentic run in the previously postponed Santa Anita Derby. The card will have a number of other high profile horses. Unfortunately, as is often the case in Southern California, the early stable notes suggest that some of the fields for this 11 race card will be relatively small, especially in the top ranked races. It's always a dilemma to choose between a card with lower ranked races that will provide strong competition versus one with graded races that include top ranked horses but don't appear to be very competitive. I think that the entries for the various Saturday race cards will be available later on today, so I'll wait and see what they look like before making, as you put it, my whimsical selection. |
