With the exception of my $2 across on Flying First Class, I'm tossing him.

Toss list (as it stands now):

Mint Slewlep
King of the Roxy
Flying First Class
C P West

That leaves Street Sense, Hard Spun, Curlin, Circular Quay and Xchanger to filter through.

Out of curiosity, what is it that you like about Mint Slewlep (as he's not on your toss list?)

I always use a MD. based horse in the Preakness. Mint Slewep has a chance for getting a 3rd or 4th place finish. I don't like a Xchanger I thought he cam out of a very weak Federico Tesio Stks and Hard Spun will just destroy him early. MS has a nice 5f drill over the Pim. surface. The only negative is that Robbie Bailes put Alan Garcia instead of MD. based jockey. Garcia is a very good jock but I rather have Caraballo/Desormeaux on him who know how to ride Pimlico. It's a stab worth taking.

Just using the "top 3" Derby finishers...tossing everyone else into the "4th" slot in supers.

I'm tossing every horse not entered yesterday. I'm willing to admit that they have 0% chance to win.

I'd have a really hard time tossing a horse who really has never ran a bad race.

I'm reading from the same newsletter TG. I think he's a great horse, but the pace set up and the toll of the Derby. I'm playing him out of the top two spots.

You have to take a stand against someone and in the Preakness Exacta for me it's Hard Spun.

With THIS asterisk: If it's very wet, he's a must play. 1 for 1 SLY, huge wet Tommy. Xchanger moves up in the wet stuff too.

if I learned anything from last years TC it was 8-8-8
so obviously this year it will be 7-7-7

I have now tossed them all.
This will be the first time in a long time that I will not play a TC race, but I live by the philosophy of skipping the races I really can't figure out.....even if it is a G1 classic. I looked at the pp for awhile today trying to find something, but I just can't find anything I really like.
I think it was Scav that said a few days ago that he didn't like anyone. I have to agree with him. I feel weird skipping it....but I think I am just going to enjoy this one as a fan.

Agree plus I have to work and will just get home in time to watch the race. I'll just hope SS wins so we can go the whole "will he or won't he be the next TC winner" route again.Deb

I must be easier to please, because I can't toss any of them. Give me 300-1, and I'd be all over Mint Slewlep. Give me 3-1, and I'm all over Street Sense. Not likely to get either of those, I'll admit. But maybe I can get the 9-1 that I would need to bet Circular Quay, or the 12-1 that would get me interested in King of the Roxy. If the track comes up sloppy, maybe I'll even get the 4-1 I'd need to love Hard Spun.

I agree with Beyer. Street Sense's Derby was very nice, but it wasn't as impressive as it (casually) looked. He certainly has a good chance to win the Preakness, but not the even money chance he will probably go off at. It's a good betting opportunity, IMO.
