WV/Pitt. The refs are a disgrace.

If Missouri loses.

The screams for a playoff system yet again will be heard.
Ohio State sits at home watching the top teams get beat.
If you dont play, ya cant lose. (Even though I think Ohio st. belongs in the BCS championship.) But you got Georgia, not even playing in their conf. championship, not even winning their conf., with a chance at the National Championship?

This should be a riot.

Personally, I would like to see Ohio State against USC.

This is great. Georgia is looking very good to make the title game. Just like Nebraska some years ago when the made the title game without even winning their conference tournament. Maybe these conferences will stop having conference championship games since they are absolutely worthless and sometimes end up hurting more than helping. Ask Missouri. I know they won't ever stop them because of how much revenue they bring it but it's funny that they have them and a team like LSU can win it and Georgia can sit home and make it to the title game. If this year isn't the biggest argument for a playoff, I don't think there ever will be one. Georgia not only didn't win their conference title........they didn't even win their DIVISION in their conference.

That would be great.
Then teams could wait 2 1/2 months for the championship game.

Man all these crappy bowls would really flourish. Bowl eligible with 3 wins.
Somehow they got to get all these Bowl comittees and college presidents together for some sort of playoff. This vestigial relic bowl system wont go away just like a tailbone. All it does is hurt when the wrong things happen.

Maybe in my lifetime.

If HAWAII wins tonite, they gotta be given a shot.If LSU had just 1 loss, then I would say LSU versus OHIO State.Unforgiveable to lose to Arkansas.LSU coach is going insane anyways.

Lol @ Hawaii.

Back to real football teams.

I'm watching ESPN and they are saying that their numbers crunching BCS guy is saying that it's going to be Ohio St. and LSU in the title game. So that would mean that #7 LSU would have to jump over #4 Georgia, #5 Kansas and #6 Virginia Tech. I don't have any real issue with LSU being there. It's my personal feeling that they are the nations best team, albeit by a slim margin. I believe Oklahoma is the second best team. I do find it kind of odd though that Virginia Tech could go into today ranked one spot higher than LSU, they both win today, Virginia Tech beats the higher ranked team (Boston College is higher than Tennessee) and LSU passes them. Again, I do believe LSU is better than Va Tech and proved it by destroying them earlier this year.

I agree Cannon, the Pitt/WV game was a fixed game. The refs are lucky that Pitt won.

If LSU does not go to the BCS game, then I am sure that the Rose Bowl will pick LSU. Then you would have the true championship game: USC v LSU. That is the game that everyone wants to see.

Ohio State will go to the BCS game, but they are not one of the top two teams in America. Heck, they are prob 5th at best. Georgia should not go since they did not win their division.

Why not Hawaii like Scuds mentioned.

If Hawaii is given a shot, Oklahoma should move into the MAC next year and go undefeated. Texas could move to conference USA, since we beat beat UCF, the champs of that conf. in a romp.

Thats the ticket...

This is the greatest day in sports history!! I think Oklahoma and USC are the two best teams right now. (you were right cannon...USC could beat the combined Mo/Ks team by 20 and probably the Mo team solo by 35!). I think the major lesson in this season is you need a good backup qb. Both of W Va losses came with Pat White missing more than half the game and Oklahoma isn't playing for the title because Bradford basically missed the whole game against Texas Tech. For that reason alone put Hawaii in. Granted it was only Nevada they beat but they did it with their backup playing the whole game.

Despite being sort of an OSU fan I don't think the sweater vest should be there for some reason. They're a guarantee however.

I think all these teams have legitimate claim to the title game...Ohio State, Georgia, LSU, USC, Oklahoma, Virginia Tech, Hawaii. I think Oklahoma will jump lots of teams after tonight...just a feeling.

I just don't see how LSU can jump over VTech. Granted they lost to LSU in the 2nd game of the season, but that game was at LSU. VTech has lost 2 games this year and both were to the #2 ranked team in the country at the time of the loss. LSU lost two games to two unranked teams and 1 of them was at home. In addition, LSU just lost last week and you cannot lose games this late in the season and go to the championship game.

No excuses for W Va. They were given every chance in the world to beat mighty Pitt. at HOME. And the refs certainly gave them all the help they needed.

Hawaii being in the championship would be a complete joke. The others I agree should have something of a shot with the possible exception of Virginia Tech.

They lost 48-7. LSU had 600 total yards to 150 for Va Tech. LSU put it on cruise control. The regular season has to count for something.

Good point--but wasn't Booty hurt in that game. I think it would be hard to argue that USC isnt one of the top 3 teams in the nation.

The regular season does count. VTech lost to the #2 ranked team twice and LSU lost to 2 unranked teams and one of those losses being at home. In this season, the regular season is a mess for almost every team. I think that LSU is either best or 2nd best team in the country, but it is not fair or logical that they leap VTech.

Boise State played well when they were undefeated last year.Fact is there are no great teams.I don't want anybody with 2 losses playing for the National Championship. It's stupid.Even more stupid than Hawaii playing for it.
