Early Preakness odds; double will-pays

BALTIMORE - Big Brown was a huge favorite in advance wagering for the Preakness and as the second half of the Pimlico Special-Preakness double, the two-day wager that began Friday when Student Council captured the Pimlico Special at a $16.40 mutuel.

As of 5:35 p.m. Eastern on Friday, and with $90,566 in the win pool, Big Brown was the 1-10 favorite, with $67,938 having been bet on him. He was followed in line by Gayego at 14-1, Kentucky Bear (17-1), Icabad Crane (25-1), and Riley Tucker (30-1).

As the second half of the Pimlico Special-Preakness, the $2 payoff ending with Big Brown would return $20.20. Handle was $345,902.

3. Icabad Crane, 25-1

4. Yankee Bravo, 35-1

5. Behindatthebar, SCR

6. Racecar Rhapsody, 50-1

What will Dutrow do, now?
Will he smoke a splif or bury is head in the sand?

He better not bounce. I have that $20 double quite a few times and I plan to bet it all on Casino Drive in three weeks.
