Default Only racism explains close polls

Kind of quiet in the ole' politics room today. Can't imagine an article this widely accepted will find any dissent here on DT...

BTW, these polls would have to be badly biased. N.C.+1 MCN

OHIO+2 OBA

FLORIDA TIED.....I don't think those have anything to do with reality.

The media is going to help incite a race war. No doubt about it.

I think that its bullshit speculation. Couldnt we just as easily hypothesize that the only reason the race is close is because of McCain's age? There is age discrimination.

I give alot of you here credit for debating presidential politics. I was away for just a short time due to surgery I had on Monday, closing a hole in my chest that was leaking blood, fluid, food and beverage. Moved my stomach a little, too. (Just thought I'd get in on Scav's recent territory!). I can't keep up with all the posts in the politics section!

I think this Cafferty assertion that racism is hurting Obama involves the prerequisite that you see the selection of Palin as a flagrant mockery of the intelligence(or lack thereof) of the American people. If you see the Palin selection as a good choice for one to have as his/her vice presidential running mate, then you can't see through anything a politician is going to throw at you, be it McCain or Obama.

Hey Mike...my hopes for a speedy recovery and as little pain as possible.

I think Palin was a brilliant selection by the republicans and I dont know how anyone can really disagree. She has united their base and invigorated a dying campaign. As for her qualifications, well, i think we have gone over that.

As for flagrant mockery of the intelligence of the average American? I agree with that. But help me to see how that has anything to do with racism hurting obama.

I think the ones it hurts with are made up with by the ones that it may help with thus negating any advantage or disadvantage.

Racisim has nothing to do with the close polls.

Obama had a sizeable lead in every New Hampshire poll over Hillary in the primary - and would have landed a TKO that would have ended it early for Hillary.

He stunningly lost.

The black guy sometimes does much worse than the polls suggest in areas heavily populated with whites.

If Obama won New Hampshire - things would have been MUCH easier for him in the long run because the primary wouldn't have dragged on for as long as it did.

Obama will win in the end because of people like my mom. She claims she is voting for McCain because she "wanted Hillary bad" and "doesn't like something about Obama." that and he "isn't expierienced."

Females like her in Ohio, Pennsylvania, and even West Virgina will find their way to Obama in the final weeks when they start paying attention - and stop making gut feeling judgements of the person.

I had always suspected in your mental riffs you splotch onto i-net paper was a hidden little box where your subconscious was locked up so you couldn't hear it telling you that some day people are going to realize you have no real idea of what you are talking about.

That day has come..let the poor creature go now.

Geraldo is in Watts inciting a race riot for Fox News. In the process he picks up a black baby and asks the government to help the poor baby. It's just a baby!!

If I favored McCain over Obama, I would see this type of Cafferty-racism article as pathetic. I agree that it would look like a sore loser trying to figure out why the rest of the world doesn't agree with his point of view, so he throws out the inciteful racism charge

I'm not sure I can jump on board Cafferty's argument, but thought I'd throw the topic out there to all of you

I have no clue what is going to happen in these things. Just giving my guess.

Look, if things made sense and people were smart - George W. Bush would be hanging from a light post right now.

yes, by voting for them you reaffirm a politician's belief that Americans are stupid.

I hope Palin gets in there only if it meant that Alec Baldwin was leaving the country, again.
