Default Football Hall of Fame- Yes or No

Because of the possibility of career ending injuries at any point, can look at it either as "if their career ended tomorrow" or "projected to a reasonable length career"

QB's
Brett Favre
Tom Brady
Peyton Manning
Drew Brees
Kurt Warner
Donovan McNabb
Ben Rothlisberger
Carson Palmer

RB's * suprising lack of quantity here, add names as you feel fit
LaDanian Tomlinson
Adrian Peterson

WR's/TE's
Randy Moss
Hines Ward
Steve Smith (CAR of course)
Wes Welker
Larry Fitzgerald
Anquan Boldin
Chad "Ochocinco"
Reggie Wayne
Terrell Owens
Andre Johnson
Donald Driver
Torry Holt
TJ Houshmanzadeh
Tony Gonzalez
Antonio Gates

those are the only ones i feel with absolute certainty will get in. some of the others may, but the more you include, the less meaning 'hall of fame' would have.

Rothlisberger is a lock with one more super bowl, one more bike accident, and three more rapes.

McNabb is tough, and really depends on what criteria one uses. For people that expect their QBs to win championships....he obviously comes up short. For those that like stats, he looks pretty good. Compare - for example - his TD/INT to HOFer Troy Aikman.

McNabb - 203 TDs - 91 INTs
Aikman - 165 TDs - 141 INTS

McNabb blows him away.

I'm surprised so many of you think Adrian Peterson is not going to be a lock for Hall of Fame. Obviously, he's not there right now but I thought part of the thread was anticipating whether some of these players would get there down the road.

Peterson has rushed for 3,885 yards through his first 38 games. That's about 800 more than Emmitt Smith rushed for through his first 38 games. He's also scored two more rushing touchdowns than Smith did during that stretch.

I think the guy is a certainty for the HOF when his career is done, provided he stays at this pace.

QB's
Brett Favre - YES
Tom Brady - YES
Peyton Manning - YES
Drew Brees - with 3 more good years
Kurt Warner - difficult call but I say yes
Donovan McNabb - YES
Ben Rothlisberger - has a ways to go but another Super Bowl would make him tough to deny
Carson Palmer - not even close yet

RB's * suprising lack of quantity here, add names as you feel fit
LaDanian Tomlinson - YES
Adrian Peterson - three more great years or five more good ones and he's in

WR's/TE's
Randy Moss - YES
Hines Ward - NO
Steve Smith (CAR of course) - NO
Wes Welker - NO
Larry Fitzgerald - needs 3 more good years
Anquan Boldin - NO
Chad "Ochocinco" - short on TDs, may still need several more good seasons
Reggie Wayne - hasn't done enough and at 31 may never
Terrell Owens - YES
Andre Johnson - still a long way to go
Donald Driver - NO
Torry Holt - light on TDs but probably enough yards
TJ Houshmanzadeh - NO
Tony Gonzalez - YES
Antonio Gates - close already, probably 1500 more yards and 7 more TDs and he's a lock

I don't see how people can have Terrell Owens as a NO. The guy has 6 less TDs than Ochocinco, Wayne, and Adrian Peterson combined.

I only put no cause I hate him as much as I hate anybody. he will get in unless the voters vote based on his attitude.

Drew Brees if he continues to play at his current level for a few more years

Donovan McNabb yes after a few ballots
Ben Rothlisberger yes after a few ballots
Carson Palmer not yet

RB's * suprising lack of quantity here, add names as you feel fit
LaDanian Tomlinson yes
Adrian Peterson assuming he stays healthy yes

WR's/TE's
Randy Moss 1st ballot
Hines Ward 2nd or 3rd ballot
Steve Smith (CAR of course) no
Wes Welkerno
Larry Fitzgerald yes, has 51 td's in 5 1/2 seasons, if he plays 10 years he gets in
Anquan Boldin not yet
Chad "Ochocinco" no
Reggie Wayne no
Terrell Owens 1st ballot if he wasn't such an idiot, 2nd ballot
Andre Johnson no
Donald Driver no
Torry Holt close but no cigar
TJ Houshmanzadeh no
Tony Gonzalez 1st ballot
Antonio Gates yes- 53 td's in 6 1/2 seasons is a monster number for a TE
my guesses... i find it interesting how many potential HOF QB's there are and so few quality RB's. Perhaps part of it is the running back platoon everyone is using these days.

Wow, just wow.

I take it you must put a great emphasis on blocking and playing dirty.

How many current offensive lineman do you have going to the hall of fame? 60?
