Oklahoma training track observation
Saturday morning was full of horses & trainers as we gear towards Saratoga. The familar faces of George Weaver, James 007 Bond, Bruce Levine were amongst the usual cast of trainers seen this time of year. One that I have not seen at the Oklahoma "ever" was Linda Rice until Saturday. Her horses are easy to see in the morning as she has all riders wear bright green shirts. They are usually in the great care of Sam who also was on the track. This outfit had several horses out Saturday and one has to think that Rice is dead serious at defending her trainer crown. Let the 5.5 Turf sprints begin!

what are the odds of that?

Her chances are extremely remote. As much as I like Linda, and hope she has a great meet, it doesn't feel like she has close to the horses this year. Her great feat last year will never be diminished by future results.

Thanks for the tidbit that I will file away. It'll keep my P4 costs down for sure.

Pletch should be 1-2 to win the training title.

Based on what? He is kind of cold right now, even though he has heated up a bit latley.... He likely wont do well in 2 yr old races, and allowance dirt races I cant see him doing much, can you?

Isn't it about time someone starts talking about Eddie Kinneally's barn full of precocious 2-year olds?

Is this a shot towards Gales? Even though it got annoying last year, Eddie did pop a couple at the Spa.

Last year he fired all his bullets at Belmont and was in a lull during Saratoga. This year I think he changed his strategy. His % will be high.

Eddie can train but after stepping up his production last year to about 30 starters he came away matching his 4 wins from 08. Key play is a MSW 2nd time starter bet down below 11-1 ( 4-3-0-1) Julien Leparoux rode 3 of the 4 wins last year.
