Default Seafood Warning

If you order seafood at restaurants or buy frozen fish at the supermarket, you might be putting yourself in harms way. Take a look at this video. This is pretty shocking. You need to do your homework and find out where the fish you buy comes from.

If you are in favor of markedly increasing funding to the FDA so they may expand their department size, increase government control and supervision over the private sector, and inspect more imported seafood (increasing the cost of that seafood), tell your Congressmen and Senators.

The video is pretty shocking. It's been out there for several years now.

That video is 3 years old. Is the problem worse or better since then? I never eat raw sea food regardless of where it's from, and I pretty much limit the fish I buy from the supermarket to Pacific or northern waters fish. I would never buy farm raised fish. Ordering seafood in restaurants will have to be reconsidered.

I'd be in favor of diverting the teacher's pension fund in the name of the children they failed to educate. That should cover it. You can add on the wasted money attempting to overturn AZ as well and all that bottled water for congress etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc

I have no idea if the problem has gotten better or worse since that report. The first time I saw the video was yesterday when a friend sent me the link to it. I doubt much has changed because these government agencies are usually pretty slow to act.

We should warn these countries that we will ban their fish imports if they don't clean up their act.

I was going to have fish tonight but now I'm thinking about eating chicken... Are there any bad videos about that I should know about?

1. Chicken husbandry in this country is worse than deplorable.

2. If you buy fish in the supermarket, you need your head examined. Farmed fish from ANY country is garbage. I buy only wild caught fish from sources I personally know and trust. Make food acquisition a priority.

3. East coast fisheries are going to take a serious hit over the next few years due to fish breeding 'grounds' being ruined. Get it while you can.
