I can only read a little bit of it. There are 3 major factions in that country.

1) The prick Prime Minister is an Islamist. So much so that he has told the Muslim world that Turkey won't let Israel do whatever it wants in Jerusalem (holy to all those infected with Islam.) AFP is the name of this group.

2) The Secular Nationalists (who think the thing to cherish is their inbred Turkish Blood) is dominated by the military, the judiciary etc. They despise the head scarves for women etc., but have never been good at human rights protections. The military would have overthrown the Islamist leader by now if it wasn't for all the spying, phone tapping, etc. being done by the Islamists. So the military is on one side, and the government police are on the other side. They are putting ex-generals etc. on trial for plotting to kill Erdogan in 2003. Honestly, I don't know why the military doesn't take over, and hang Erdogan, because he's already shown that he's not holding up the Secular Traditions started by Ataturk ( war hero that started the country in 1923.)

3) People like my lil Half-Turk singer. They could really not care less about Islam, and would quickly move to a Western Country if they had the resources, and the opportunity. They aren't Nationalists. A lot of them don't care much about Politics. Of course, I've told ya many times the kid doesn't have any tolerance for anything that doesn't involve him directly. That limits the discussion a lot.

The AFP got into power (and have stayed in) by being popular in the more religious countryside (backwards people.) I do not think the country will ever get as Islamic as the countries around it. Quite simply, they like their Turkish Blood too much to get along with anyone else too much. There are definite reasons why the Germans n' Turks have worked together well over the last 100 years. One of those reasons is they each think they have superior blood.
That's 1 reason this country will always be "a concern." Countries where genocides have taken place will always be dangerous, because they still have problems with worshiping their own inbred blood. No matter what, Genocides (Holocausts ) are allowed to happen, because a country or tribe is led to worship their own blood. That's always a situation ripe for trouble. Whether it be Turkey (1915,) Japan ('1940-45,) Germany 1(933-45,) or Africa today. They love their blood, and that doesn't change very quickly (if at all.)
