There hasn't been a Minpin win the Toy Group since '75. They've never won best in Show. Chances of winning the Toy Group are about 40/1-50/1. There's about a 90% chance of the Toy Group being won by a Toy Poodle, a Peking disease, or a Shyt Zoo. The Pomeranian, Affenpinscher, and Minpin (assuming this bitch wins the breed) have longshot chances. She's about 7th-9th rated Toy Dog in the country. I would expect she'll be a top 5 rated Toy Dog (in the country) by the end of the year. I think, she could get a top 5 in this show. If she doesn't win the breed, then, it will be that Soldier Boy Minpin. He will have no shot. Won't even make the first cut. He will probably bark at the crowd etc. Last edited by SCUDSBROTHER : 02-02-2011 at 12:51 AM. |

![]() I just scanned Monday's entries. Yup, Goldens have the 2nd highest entry; Frenchies are 3rd. Amazing how quickly Frenchies have captured the attention of dog owners. We're thinking seriously about getting one - but they have a myriad of health problems. We have our name in with a couple of well-known and reputable breeders who diligently screen for known health problems. They say it's a 2 - 3 year wait and the price is $3K and up. Yikes!

![]() New York has gone to the dogs, according to sportscaster Mary Carillo.
And that's a good thing, said Carillo, this year's co-host of the Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show. Providing dog-show running commentary alongside longtime host David Frei won't be too far removed from the tennis and Olympic events she often narrates. "So many of the dogs, they really are jocks," said Carillo. "These are trained athletes, and they are judged on that." Read more: http://www.nydailynews.com/ny_local/...#ixzz1DU0h89Kk |

![]() A friend of mine had a Gordon Setter as a pet and hunting companion for 13 wonderful years. He was a great dog. He kept his hair trimmed for ease of grooming, though.
