From espn.com: http://sports.espn.go.com/sports/hor...aul&id=6317906

Trainer Todd Pletcher said afterwards that Uncle Mo grabbed his left-front quarter, shearing off a piece of the hoof wall the size of a quarter while leaving the gate sharply in what appeared to be a clean break, but would not use the mishap as an excuse. Uncle Mo's immediate future, however, is uncertain.

"He grabbed a quarter leaving the gate," Pletcher said. "It didn't help but I'm not using that as an excuse. After that, he was kind of hounded early on. The fractions were reasonable. It was his first time going a mile and an eighth, first time over the Aqueduct surface. I was a little concerned turning for home at the three-sixteenths pole when he didn't really kick clear. I thought then that we were going to be in for a fight. You could see the last fifty to sixty yards he was tired.

"It goes without saying that if he wins by 10 today he goes [to Kentucky] with quite a bit different morning line than he is now. It doesn't mean we're not going to go, it doesn't mean we are going to go. We'll see how he comes out of it and make sure he's physically okay, that's a priority. It's totally up to Uncle Mo. My confidence hasn't changed in the horse. He's got a good win at Churchill and maybe this is what he needed to step forward four weeks from now."

Yeah, just read that. From BH:

“He grabbed a quarter (left front) leaving the gate," Pletcher said after the race. "It didn’t help, but I’m not using that as an excuse. After that, he was kind of hounded early on. The fractions were reasonable. It was his first time going a mile and an eighth, first time over the Aqueduct surface. I was a little concerned turning for home at the three-sixteenths pole when he didn’t really kick clear. I thought then that we were going to be in for a fight. This would support what I saw, but who knows.

I did also find it puzzling that Pletcher scratched the 2 Repole horses in the Carter.

It made me wonder if there was something going on with the vet, or something along those lines.

That said, I still feel that when the Kentucky Derby favorite doesn't debut until a fabricated stake on March 12, something's amiss.

I know the answer to IC's question, but really don't want the prize. So, well, pass?

I, at one time, sent him a video tape, a long time ago, with some old races from the 80s and 90s. About a year later, I get a video tape back from him of some old races he had, interlaced with Randy Moss highlights, and highlights of his favorite porn star, Lexus.

He also threw in a sock.

I think it's quite obvious that the winner of the "meet & greet" slipped Mo a mickey. I doubt the meet & greets will continue. I need to get on Mo's facebook page and see what he has to say about the race....
