Default SCOTUS Justice Clarence Thomas lied

Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas lied for five years on his federal financial disclosure forms, repeatedly denying his wife Ginny earned hundreds of thousands of dollars as a Washington lobbyist, including fighting against Obama's healthcare reform.

Judge Thomas finally released this information (his corrected financial disclosure forms) the Friday night of Memorial Day weekend (the timing of typical political dump of truth when you don't want news coverage about it). This was eclipsed by the Weinergate story. Congressman Weiner has been actively trying to get Justice Thomas to both account for his years of lying while on the bench, and to recuse himself from hearing any cases regarding Obamacare.

if he recuses himself surely Sotomayer should as well and then it's just a yes/no cancel out. I think they should both stay and in fact write the majority/minority opinions. This comes down to Kennedy.

Nothng more than another attempt for the Dems to jam it home to the taxpayer. Obamacare will save a few and kill the rest. Kind of like fixing a door handle while the engine light is on, the engine is knocking bad and smoke is starting to come out.

Why? When did Sotomayer deliberately lie for five years professionally?

When did Kagan deliberately lie for five years during her professional government employment?

It has nothing to do with knowing every financial detail for a spouse and everything to do with any opinions she had foreseeing/preparing for suits, in her role as Soliciter General, against the unconstitutional obamacare. I think this has everything to do with race!

Clarence Thomas' lying on his SCOTUS financial disclosure forms regarding his wife's earnings, for five years in a row, hasn't much to do with his race.

It has to do with his lying. Are you okay with a Justice of the Supreme Court doing that, or not?

If say emails between him and wife and or accountant regarding hiding by omission were found or his accountant came foward then yes I have a problem and yes at a minimum he should recuse himself. Right now it's a mistake.

The Justice filled out a required government form, five years in a row, and where it asked for his wife's income, he checked "none" and signed the form.

Five years in a row.

No, that's not a mistake. That is lying.

If there was Twitter back then this would be the least of his worries. He is an embrrassment to this country and his wife is the least of it.

i find it somewhat amusing that pols are accusing others of having conflict of interest...yeah, cause goodness knows pols would never engage in that type of sordid behavior! why, they're pure as the driven snow.

Hmm if he lied about something like this it makes a person wonder if he lied about Anita Hill. Either way he should remove himself from the bench.

Agreed! Always wondered about Ms Hill but gave him the benefit of the doubt.

He filled out a form for 20 yrs that said his wife made nada. The last 5 yrs are now an issue and a lie LMAO. It's a mistake and I'll bet she spent less time on Obamacare than Kagan did, yet never worked for the founder and namesake of OBAMA-care. Kagan especially and Thomas' wife indirectly need to take the high road and recuse themselves. Only Thomas' wife isn't a supreme court justice.
