Default 9/17: Belmont Park ($94k C/O); Arlington Park (8th-9th)

Belmont C/O card Friday proved daunting enough to send sextet jackpot into Saturday, as there were just enough 'next choice' kind of horses in the sequence to make it un-hittable. $31.80 Kharafa (3rd choice as Best Value in 6th), $18.00 Top Surprize (Next Best 3rd choice in 4th) and $14.80 Honey Talk (Best Value top tab in 9th) were among the afternoon's possible successes, but I couldn't reach Count Catamount in the 8th and wouldn't have even had the $3,060 (.50) P4 including him at the bottom of the selections. Was able to finish the day with good returns in the nightcap off of Howard's well bred Honey Talk, as the rest of the cast was laid out for the $56.50 exacta, $184.50 trifecta and $1,034 super. Hope everybody got a piece of something on the fun day of racing. Saturday a fall cornucopia of action with the $94k carryover in New York, amazingly deep opportunities at Chicago including the Pucker Up and a stakes-laden card at Charles Town tonight featuring the $400k Oaks. Enjoy the day!

BELMONT PARK

PRE-SCRATCHES

5th: MSW, 2yo, 6f (P6, P3, DD, Super)

6th: CLM/N2L, 3+, 6f-IT (G/S, P3, DD, Super)

Typically difficult lawn dash with about 6-8 conceivable for honors. Envision a scenario, use the ones that make sense in it and hope for the best. Presence of 'First N.A.' Zaahy for Clement an added burden..

Super Add: #10 Fortissi More 8-1 2nd

9th: 33rd Garden City (G1), 3yo-F, 9f-IT (DD, Super)

Intriguing storylines into this G1 event for soph gals include recasting of Lake Placid principals with Lezcano moved off Winter Memories and landing on Kathmanblu, as well as the return to the U.S. of Theyskens' Theory. Unless I had looked at the history, I wouldn't have recalled that Corey Nakatani (More Than Real) has won this race TWICE, first in 1998 on Pharratta and again in 2001 on Voodoo Dancer! Note there is a dearth of pace in here, and Arch Support, who stunned a Spa ALW at 26-1 last out (under Nakatani), could take them a long way. The filly had been going the wrong way before receiving extensive chiro work throughout the summer that has helped restore her fitness..

Most Likely: #4 Winter Memories 8-5 WON ($4.20)
Next Best: #3 Hungry Island 3-1 4th
Exotics Use: #1 More Than Real 8-1 3rd
Super Add: #6 Kathmanblu 8-1 8th

10th: MSW, 2yo, 8.5f-T (Super)

MDN heat features debut of Barbaro full brother Margano..

Best Value: #5 Powerofone 6-1 9th
Next Best: #9 Our Entourage 7-2 WON ($4.00)
Exotics Use: #10 Political Courage 12-1 8th
Super Add: #7 Margano 6-1 7th

<$200 P6 Play:

5: 1
6: 7-8
7: 5-8 1-7/SCRATCHED
8: 1-6-8
9: 3-4
10: 5-9

1x2x2x3x2x2 = 48 x $2 = $96

<$75 P4 Play:

7: 5-8 1-7/SCRATCHED
8: 1-6-8
9: 1-3-4-6
10: 5-9-10

2x3x4x3 = 72 x .50 = $36

ARLINGTON PARK

PRE-SCRATCHES

8th: ALW/N1X, F&M-3+, 1m-T (P4, P3, DD, Super)

Some terrific betting opportunities in Chicago Saturday including outrageous G3 Pucker Up and this ALW with a bad favorite in Alluring Squall who has to improve to contend, let alone win..

Best Value: #1 Cat Bells 12-1 8th
Next Best: #5 Top Pair 9-2 WON ($8.60)
Exotics Use: #11 Lohan 8-1 3rd
Super Add: #6 Alluring Squall 5-2 2nd

9th: 48th Pucker Up (G3), 3yo-F, 9f-T (P3, DD, Super)

The Garden City may be the day's glamor mile and an eighth set for 3yo missies, but this thing is pure wagering mayhem waiting to happen. Send it in!

Best Value: #1 Sea Level Drive 30-1 2nd
Next Best: #11 Happy Choice 15-1 12th
Exotics Use: #3 Marketing Mix 7-2 WON ($4.60)
Super Add: #10 Barbies M 30-1 5th

Good luck!
Steve

Steve, note the rider change on Tapidar from Desormeaux to Pezua. That hurts!
