I like a pair of 3 yr olds this year, Galikova and the horse I mentioned on 9/8/11 in this thread, Meandre. Both horses will get the 2400 and both may need every inch of it to get up. But I like the way these 2 are heading into the big race.
Galikova but probably a little bit more on Meandre, he probably is the bet as he looks to be overlooked. |

Random thought, Treasure Beach looks like a 2 time gr.1 sacrificial lamb to ensure Ballydoyle from inheriting the lead too early in the race.

YES. XpressBet will be taking Longchamps.

Wish it had been Snow Fairy but I absolutely did play this one to win too (I just didn't spend as much but that is fine haha). My post about her bypassing the Shuka Sho is gone but i sure am glad they came here instead! Okay I am going back to bed. Happy Arc Day, guys! |

Aidan O'Brien is going to get a tongue-lashing from Bart Cummings and he deserves it. Taking So You Think to the far back end of the field? Again with the pacemaker? Stupid, stupid, stupid. SYT has plenty of pace on his own, he can sit handy and has done so with excellent results in Australia. He stays - he passed a large portion of the field in the later stages - but O'Brien seems convinced that he doesn't. At least he finished first of the male horses in the field.
I should have had some money on the German filly. I am the big backer of German horses and breeding. Stupid move again. |

I wish they'd send him home! Don't you?
Well I had to wait for tvg to have results and yea for the girls coming in 1,2 and 3! Had forgotten I played Snow Fairy across so yes this is a good morning and thank you Danedream AND Snow Fairy. |

Definitely. But Coolmore is wedded to O'Brien. And O'Brien won't train or run the horse the way that is most successful for him because it doesn't fit his mindset. Same problem that Baffert had with War Emblem; took over training after the horse had reached his peak, then didn't persevere with how the horse got there. (War Emblem needed fairly frequent racing to progress, even if he didn't win, but that didn't fit 'The Program.')

I'd never heard of Danedream before this race - what a first impression! She destroyed them, and in race record time. I'm speechless.

I was suprised by the final time of the race, 2:24.49. Didn't think they would let the ground that fast, especially when Stoute gave the go ahead for Workforce.
