HBO schedules "Luck" to debut early, now on 12/11

HBO has moved up the first airing of "Luck" to after the season finale of Boardwalk Empire. The official premiere is Jan 29th so I guess they'll rerun the pilot and begin the season then. This is basically a sneak preview of the whole show like they did with Glee the summer before it started. |

That could be an indicator it's a dud. I'm sure it will be. HBO is still relishing in the Sopranos hype. Boardwalk Empire has already jumped the shark.

Boardwalk is doing very well You are correct in assuming HBO is cautiously optimistic, apparently nobody who has seen it loves it, early judgement can be wrong often. |

True Blood is getting good ratings but it's a limited demographic of fat chicks and shut-ins.
Boardwalk Empire is overrated because of the Scorsese brand. 2.6 million viewers is not that good. |

Maybe you think Boardwalk is overrated but I look forward to it every week.

It makes sense to put it after a show like Boardwalk Empire. Atlantic City followed by horse racing. Not sure there'd be a more compatible series on HBO unless it's some non-fiction sports show. I do hope "Luck" is a faster pace than BE though. I can't see how it wouldn't be.
