Put in some time on these races tonight. Not sure why this is not the late pick 4. Its actually bullshit that its not. Ill just turn it into 2 pick 3's and hope Im right about the middle 2 legs. Here are my picks.

Demoiselle- 1,10 Dont really have much to say about the race. Ill use just those 2 though.

Remsen- 1,2 w/ a little 4. I think the 1,2 both have huge upside. I think they really lay over this field and I dont see anyway they both run bad. The 4 ran OK first out, then it was straight to turf. The horses pedigree is all turf so It makes sense. Ill give him another shot to dirt in here, but he needs to step up to beat the 1,2.

Cigar Mile- Wide wide wide open race. I wont use the 1 or 2 at all and Im not sure the 3 wants this distance vs these. Plus the 3 might be running on Turkey day. That leaves me with 4 out of 7 horses. Ill break them up like this. 6,7 are my a's. The 4 might be an A come Saturday afternoon, right now he is a b though along with the 5. If the 7 is the 4th or 5th choice Ill be betting him to win and keying him in a few other bets.

Gazelle- Even if Im a genius on the 2 previous races the 7 can beat me. She can beat 10/10 times. Every single day of the week. I dont think shes good enough. Plus with her injuries and setbacks who is to say shes going to move forward? She is what she is, and thats not good enough to even win this very weak Grade 1. The 2 will be my A. Her last couple races win this. I will also use the 3,5,8 right now they are all B's but that could change before Saturday.

I was expecting something a little more acerbic.

Something like...

"yes, and then I stuck ice picks through my eyes and ear drums"

or

"no, why don't you go ahead and tell me who the sire is. I completely lost my mind when I saw that Sightseek had a runner and didn't notice the sire listed right before the dam"

That should lock-up the 3 year old award.

For whom?

To Honor and Serve shouldn't even be a finalist. He may be the best 3YO in the country however.

That is the definitive summing up of this colt's 2011 campaign.

Next year, I hope he's able to stay the extra furlong he didn't get in the BC Classic, because he might become an awesome 4yo in a Formal Gold-type vein.

Well, maybe not that fast.

So who should be?

Animal Kingdom because he won the Derby?

Uncle Mo because he actually put together two good races?

Shackleford?

I did forget Caleb's Posse
