Good for Elijah. Young man, you are correct. Your mommy does not need any "fixing".

And in other good human rights news today:

Quote:
WASHINGTON — The Obama administration is announcing a wide-ranging effort to use U.S. foreign aid to promote rights for gays and lesbians abroad, including combating attempts by foreign governments to criminalize homosexuality.

Must be quite a kick in the teeth to the conservative Washington politicians associated with C Street and the Family, who have worked very hard to make homosexuality a capital offense in some countries in Africa.

And all in the timing for homophobic countries like Pakistan and Egypt who already got their billions pre this political ploy and to countries who recognize and protect homosexualality yet also traffic and condone sex with minors, who will be unaffected by the new policy, it's all in the wording. Good policy just far from good enough.

Well because the child is 8 and Im sure he doesnt spend his time watching politics on t.v. No matter a persons stand on the issues, using a child even if it is yours to further your point of view just seems a little wrong.

In a nutshell the US will still be able to send foreign aid to countries like Burma, Thailand, and Cambodia where ordering little boys and girls for sex is like ordering a happy meal here. Like I said a good initiative but far from enough. Include abuse/prejudice towards women, children and religion, along with homosexuals and transgender folk and you’re there.

i have no issue with a boy learning from his mother that people who are different aren't necessarily needing 'fixing'. i think he learned several good lessons, including the fact that it's perfectly ok to call out a hateful pol in a polite way.

I understand your point and we will just agree to disagree.
