Best running back
ESPN radio just introduced a segment coming up with "the best running back to strap on pads this season. Arian Foster." Not buying it, I would go with MoJo for at least this season and AP for prior years.
Thoughts on best back?

It all depends on the system your offense runs, but I would take Ray Rice. He can catch, pick up the blitz, and pick up the first down in short yardage situations. My favorite thing about him is he doesn't hesitate and dance putting you in a lot of 2nd and 12 yards to go. He may not be the flashiest back but he gets the most out of just about every play.

LeSean McCoy. Iggles don't use him nearly enough. He's really good.

Running back is turning into a meaningless position in pro football.
The rules have made it so. Nothing has changed rule wise to benefit them. The QB's might as well as be two hand touch. The WR's -- all of a sudden -- can't even have defenders breathing on them. And they are protected by an absurd "defenseless reciever" when they do try and catch. This is why you have to start drafting WR's in the first round -- and why no Non-Alabama Tide RB's go in the first round anymore. All of a sudden, even Heyward-Bay looks like a great draft pick. |

As far as this season goes, I like Jones-Drew and Rice. These guys pick up blitzes, pass catch, and run tackle to tackle. They also are durable, even for as many touches as they have gotten. These 2 get my vote.

McFadden is a cripple, and he's not as good as MJD, Rice, or even Foster when he's healthy. |
