![]() Why is he a jerk for stating a fact? I'm disappointed he didn't go further. The people who did have guns were those loyal to the party.
It's sickening how f.ucking weak this country has become over WWII. The censorship is astounding...and telling. |

Is your contention that an armed citizenry would have simply laid down their weapons and allow the Nazi's to take over their country? Really? Please explain, I'm dying to hear this... |

![]() actually, the weimar republic first introduced gun control in an attempt to thwart the rising power of the nazis. problem was, it backfired as the nazis were willing to do anything necessary, including own weapons illegally-while the people the republic were ostensibly trying to protect were thus disarmed. thus, the nazis still gained power.. they strengthened existing gun controls when they took power.
in other words, those who connect gun control with nazis have a legit reason for doing so. law abiding citizens should be concerned when their govt purports to take their arms away for their safety. 'The most foolish mistake we could possibly make would be to permit the conquered Eastern peoples to have arms. History teaches that all conquerors who have allowed their subject races to carry arms have prepared their own downfall by doing so.' --- Adolf Hitler (1889-1945), April 11, 1942, quoted in Hitlers Tischegesprache Im Fuhrerhauptquartier 1941-1942. [Hitler's Table-Talk at the Fuhrer's Headquarters 1941-1942], Dr. Henry Picker, ed. (Athenaum-Verlag, Bonn, 1951) Hitler continues, "Indeed I would go so far as to say that the underdog is a sine qua non for the overthrow of any sovereignty. So let's not have any native militia or police. German troops alone will bear the sole responsibility for the maintenance of law and order."
