oh wow. yeah, at least a little.

' Politico notes that Ranae Soptic died in 2006, long after the plant closed, and CNN adds that at some points during that time she had insurance through her own employer. '

and then there's cobra, that you can carry for 18 months after leaving/losing your job. and it's not as tho you cannot get insurance ON YOUR OWN because you lost group because your job is gone. ridiculous.

The content of the ad has been superceded by the outrage on the conservative rightwing towards the response of the Romney campaign to this ad, called by the right wing as grossly incompetent, with calls by Coulter to boycott GOP convention, with hold donor money from Romney, fire Romney staff, Eric Erickson says, "day Romney lost election", etc. Limbaugh has gone crazy all yesterday afternoon calling Romney campaign incompetent over response, etc.

This ad, and the Romney campaign response, and the rightwing outrage over the Romney campaign response, has been the major headline story of the past 24 hours, has consumed the right wing conservative blogs, Fox News, Limbaugh, and the airwaves of the left, too, and is the major political story continuing today.

It was the story on 100% of political shows last night and this morning.

See other thread about this from yesterday, http://www.derbytrail.com/forums/showthread.php?t=47850, where Pointman called discussing this major political story a mindless attack nobody cares about.

Now lets get past Riot's nonsensical attempts to deflect from the facts here and unfairly disparage me and get to the real facts:

* Bain Capital bought GST mill in 1993.

* Romney left Bain in 1999 to run the Salt Lake City Olympics.

* Bain closed the mill in 2001.

* Joe Soptic lost his job, but his wife Renae retained her job and her own health insurance at Saver's Thrift Store.

* Renae loses her job and her own health insurance at Saver's in 2002 after sustaining an injury.

* In 2006, a full 5 years after the steel plant closed, Renae is diagnosed with cancer and passes away soon after.

This ad is a despicable attempt to smear Romney with absolute lies and is supported by the Obama campaign. Obama's attempts to distance himself from it are more lies, Obama is still taking money from this PAC and Soptic is featured in at least three other promos by the campaign.

Obama's continued attempts to throw lies out with the success of the mindless blindly believing them (see Riot) is disgusting.

Obama just gave a speech taking no questions. Has said nothing about the false ad or whether he will be returning their money.

I thought he was against Super Pacs?

Or does that just go for the other side

he was against super pacs. but now he's not, since he doesn't want to get left behind on fundraising or on ads.

He must be evolving again.

Like when he was against same sex marriage and now supports it.

Sorry, seems you've again jumped to a silly wrong conclusion and gone off on one of your childish rants of bitchiness and nastiness over the wrong thing.

I was commenting only on your obvious ignorance of this as a major political story the past 24 hours, as you posted in the other thread.

And as I said to you in the other thread, which you obviously couldn't read, didn't read, or read but was simply unable to understand, I'm with the Romney camp on this one. The ad pushes the edge.

But that story has gotten lost during the right wing implosion of outrage and anger at Romney's staff, unfortunately, and that - the right wing meltdown, the conservative infighting over this, the right attacking Romney - has been the major dominant news story of the past 24 hours.

I pointed out you were, until now, ignorant of that, so your attacking me on bringing the story up only points out your obvious political ignorance. It's kinda funny, you attack me, but your attack shows nothing but your own cluelessness about the situation.

You really need to read a newspaper now and then to keep up.

And, the last three Romney ads were outright lies, saying the opposite of reality, deliberately mis-editing what the President said, and have been called out as such by the media. Another ad was released by Romney camp this am doing the same outright lying.

No outrage over Romney lying here on Derby Trail, unsurprisingly

No. The Mitt people responded to this ad yesterday morning, on a major news channel.

That goofed-up response (I didn't think it was goofed up) by Mitt's spokesman yesterday AM created the massive outrage of the righties angry at the Mitt people for how they responded.

The entire story yesterday, last night, and this morning, was the crazy righties demanding Mitt fire his spokeswoman who made the comment yesterday morning. Red State, Hannity, Ann Coulture, Fox, Limbaugh spent all day yesterday screaming at the Romney campaign, outraged at what his spokesperson said and demanding she be fired.

Here's the story I posted in the other thread yesterday about the rightie outrage over the "gaffe" http://www.derbytrail.com/forums/showthread.php?t=47850

The left are just sitting there watching the right eat each other and destroy each other over this, with their mouths open in shock. While eating popcorn.
