i wonder how others feel, when people see them and automatically assume they must be illegal.

i had a lady comment to me one time how she had visited california and was amazed at how many mexicans were there. i said really? she said yeah, it's unreal how many have moved there. i said, you do know that california and much of the southwest had belonged to mexico, the people she saw might have lived there for more generations than anyone else in the state. she didn't know, and apparently didn't care about that part of history...it didn't gibe with how her thinking was going.

Bigotry is very sad to witness.

I swear... I have more respect for those brown illegal people then I do for the majority of white and black legal people in this country.

Try not to have another one any time soon.

Can I ask something and not of you but just in general?

This whole "brown people" expression... is that acceptable in parts of the country cause I'll tell you if either of my kids said or had said such a thing in school (or "speaking Mexican") I would have gotten a call so fast and can guarantee they'd have been suspended for saying such things.

I am not saying anyone is racist or anything but I keep thinking if it were the opposite and one of the no-love-for-Obama types had said it they'd be accused of all kinds of things.

Migrant farm workers, they travel and follow the crops, same thing in Kentucky, California. You see a bunch of "brown people" every summer. Doesn't mean they are illegal, however.

Reminds me of two years ago when Farm Workers of America Union offered a job to any unemployed America who was angry and thought their job was being taken by an "illegal" - they offered to hook up any unemployed American who wanted a job with a job in California, working the fields.

They got 2-3 people who kept the jobs.

I was just a little surprised by the "speaking Mexican" part.

I could have made that clear... probably should have.

What do you expect from the level of intellect from the poster? His racial and misguided attempt to infer that datruth must be a racist just because he expressed his displeasure regarding the fact that the administration allows people to flaunt their illegal status in this country demonstrates what a dolt he really is.

Here is a newsflash, Captain I need Riot to make a fool of herself in a fruitless attempt to save my moronic comments here, just because your position is that this country needs stricter enforcement of people committing crimes by laughing and flaunting our immigration laws does not equate in any way to a racial position.

Here is the post you made and the post you quoted. So tell me, genius, if you weren't inferring racism in datruth's post, exactly how does the "brown guys speaking Mexican i guess" part of the quote come into play here?

Riot, your sock puppet has himself in deep $hit. You might want to start googling like crazy to find pie charts, graphs, cartoons, anything to distract or shift the issue to save the sock puppet.

I borrowed 'brown people' from Carlin, used it before...thinking about it you may be right, never thought of it that way...i think of racist names like the N word, and others i've heard over a lifetime...guess i should have said i heard some guys speaking Mexican...my bad huh...

Like i said, see them every year about this time...most of the time at grocery stores...Worked part-time at a furniture store couple years ago and a guy came in and bought 6 bunkies for his migrant workers to sleep on..has a farm in the county...local workers don't want those jobs...
btw, thought you might get the flip remark about Obama being a great president..said that many times..just say that to bug the haters...capiche..
