Too bad Congress refuses to help do anything about unemployment, or we'd be back at 6% by now.

Those unemployment numbers also means people who were not counted (long-term unemployed), are encouraged, and getting back into workforce trying to look for work.

New housing purchases up 3.6% in July, matching 2-year high, exceeding expectations

Purchases of new U.S. homes rose more than projected in July to match a two-year high, a sign the industry that helped trigger the recession is recovering.

Sales climbed 3.6 percent to a 372,000 annual pace, following a 359,000 rate in June that was higher than previously estimated, figures from the Commerce Department showed today in Washington. Last month’s rate was the same as in May, which was the strongest since April 2010. The median forecast of 72 economists surveyed by Bloomberg called for a rise to 365,000.

You are an absolute joke at this point, shill. Congress refuses to do anything about it? Put aside that it is the President's job, didn't Congress do what the President wanted by passing the failed stimulis? Weren't we told that unemployment would be down to 5% by now?

Yet, we don't even know what the real unemployment rate is because the administration refuses to truthfully count it, instead they give us the fudged version which is still over 8%, but those with even a pea in their brain know that it is much higher.

What we really need is a leader in the White House who will do what it takes to stimulate job growth. You know, do things like cut regulations and taxes on businesses so that they have more money to hire workers which stimulates spending, allows businesses to afford to open factories in the U.S. and employ people here instead of sending the work to China, etc.

Unlike you, I would rather the businesses have the money to pay the workers to work and to make it more affordable to manufacture products here than it costs to do it in China and ship it here as opposed to taxing the hell out of them so they don't hire workers but end up giving it to the people who can't find a job as an entitlement.

I don't buy your party line spin on what is clearly an Obama failure, not a failure by Congress. Baa!

Riot please explain what Congress has prevented Obama from doing to reduce unemployment. Was it passing the stimulus? Was it passing Obamacare which makes most employers afraid to hire? Was it threatening to raise taxes (oh wait that was Obama). Was it allowing the EPA to illegally enforce business killing measures? Was it letting public sector unions bribe Democrat politicians to give them outrageous and unsustainable benefits? Was it going along with Obama's brilliant plan of funding so-called green energy companies that happened to bribe him?
