That is really gross. They were up 7 with the ball in field goal range with 3min in the game. Crazy.... |

poor coaching at it's best. <4 minutes to play , 3rd and 5 , vinatieri waiting to kick the FG of less than 40 yds, where he is automatic. go up 2 scores, win game, home crowd and bettors go home happy,
but NOOOOO, let's throw a pass instead of handing the ball off to a guy who doesn't fumble. Interception.....TD, 3 and out for the colts , punt ,iggles drive, kick FG to win it. 10 quick points and a road win. how many people wanted to choke that coach after that pick ? you knew what was gonna happen right away. |

Yup. Looked like a clear cut pass interference call on that late interception.

not really, the guy fell down, but the only guy who was gonna catch that pass was the guy who did......why would they throw it ? They are a bet against the rest of the year.....when the captain is an idiot, the ship will end up a shipwreck

I agree. It was a good no-call.
Luck's Colts are 10-2 ATS and 11-1 SU after losses. Sure one loss was Monday night, and even with Jonathon Cyprian's return for the Jags this weekend, I'll still take the Colts and the 6 pts this

What seems to be lost about that play (as Alabama has alluded to) is the BONE HEADED playcall to pass the ball instead of running the ball, taking the clock down some more, than kicking the field goal for a potential 10 point lead.
"Only three things can happen when you throw the ball, and two of them are bad". The Colts found out the hard way. Missed calls are part of the game, for every team, almost every week. There's not enough time in the day for me to get into the innumerable times that the Eagles got jo'd by the referees.

But I do have to ask why on the last series they used T-Rich who has fumbled the ball twice in the game and not Bradshaw who was showing better burst all game? But then Pep doesn't care what we think! http://www.indystar.com/story/sports...cism/15841361/

I agree they shouldn't have thrown on this play but this adage is outdated. In today's NFL there are many more likely outcomes. Pass interference and defensive holding are just as common as completions. Let's also not forget the 15 yard penalty for tackling to hard.

Indy's playcalling towards the end of the game was atrocious at best. Ran the ball when they should've passed, and passed when they should've run.
Call it getting too cute. Call it being scared of giving Chip the ball back w/ 5 minutes on the clock, down two scores...whatever ya call it, call it as boneheaded a move that I've seen in quite some time, and they probably lost the game because of it.

I totally agree on the penalties being used as a way to get down the field. This DEFINITELY ISN'T the game that I grew up on!
