lol easy killer!!

a team being in playoff contention doesn't mean they are a good team. hell, denver is in contention, might even win their division. there are 5-7 teams in contention, i saw the list on tv yesterday. imo, a less than .500 team is a crappy team.

my point was that altho rr is a record holder, he's not a top horse. in that same vein, tebow is a qb in the nfl, doesn't mean he's a future hof'er. i have enjoyed watching him and his team claw back and win week after week, it's been infinitely enjoyable. i'll get a kick out of it if it continues. however, that doesn't mean that i think tebow is a good qb.

The Eagles are 5-8. they are having a terrible season. but they still have the talent to win any individual game when they play well.

someone who is 7-1 in the national football league is doing a hell of a job. doesnt matter who they are playing. The only team that truely has no shot at winning on a given week are the Colts. and last time I checked, Tebow hasnt played them.

There are a lot of arguements that can be rationally made against tim tebow. His competition is not one of them.

It might not be the best comparison but it's a lot closer than you are giving it credit for.

Basically you are calling people haters because they are looking at things critically. What is wrong with analyzing who they beat? What is wrong with mentioning they were life and death (at home) to beat a Bears team without their QB and star RB? Isn't that what we're supposed to do? That's what we do when handicapping. We look past the obvious stuff (they are winning, Timmy is the bestest!!!) to see why and how.

As I mentioned previously it reminds me a lot of the KC Chiefs last year. If I recall there was even some talk for Cassel for MVP on here. They beat up on bad teams, got beat by the better teams and then were exposed as frauds in the playoffs.

They are winning, which is something they were not doing without him. Of course, without him they were losing to Green Bay and San Diego (when they were good), so maybe that had more to do with it. He's played his way to at least being their QB next year and we'll be able to get a better read on just what he can and can't do.

Obviously, you can't argue with the fact that they are 6-0 with him as a starter. It's been said countless times, the guy is a trendous competitor and is getting it done. It really is a great feel good story. But just because people try to keep things in perspective, doesn't automatically make them a hater.

this is fair enough.. and you could be on to something comparing the broncos to the chiefs. I just love teams that have great defenses though. and the broncos have a great defense. That will keep them in most games.

The thing about the competitions is that he's won 7 games. Including against the Jets, Oakland, Bears, the same Chargers team they lost to earlier in the year. They aren't playing a bunch of **** teams. These teams might not be having their best years ever, but they are far from crappy teams.

If he was 2-1, had beat the colts and the jags and lost like they did to Detriot, than I would give that opinion some credibility. Its just not the case.

Before every game it seems like the "haters" think there is no way the broncos can win. and they do. then the "haters" say "oh, they were missing so and so". According to this board.. there was no way on earth the broncos could be the jets. but they still did. I just feel the competition arguement has zero credibility.

Go ahead and argue his throwing motion and completion percentage and accuracy all you want. at least they would be valid.

of course level of competition matters. when they played a better team, they got owned. detroit isn't even the best team in the league and they crushed denver. considering the competition gives you some idea of what this team can look forward to.
i hope they beat the pats-but hell, the skins almost beat they and they're crappy-and that's my team! but i can be honest and objective when it comes to looking at them. do i expect denver to win next weekend? no. that's not hating, that's just based on assessing the two teams.
when denver gets to the playoffs and starts playing only other top teams, just how far do you think they'll get?

they'll get as far as their defense takes them.

it takes a lack of perpective of how good nfl players really are to degrade the broncos for winning 7 of 8 games.

at the time when the lions beat denver, they were considered one of the best teams in football. I guess Tebow deserves the criticism that he is 7-1 instead of 8-0.

It's a lot easier to go 7-1 when you play mediocre teams or teams without their starting QB AND star RB.

according to the football experts on this board.. The Green Bay Packers are the only team in the NFL that isnt crappy because they havent lost.

no one is degrading them! at least no one i've heard, read...

to be honest, i'd love for them to win out. it would crack me up immensely to see so many who completely discounted tebow and co to do that. but do i expect it? no. that doesn't make me a hater. that makes me a realist.

They beat the Jets, but I'll be the first to admit this is not the same Jets of last year. The Jets also handed them the game, but for arguments sake, that was a good team they beat.

They beat an Oakland team with a QB that was on his couch watching Family Guy 2 weeks earlier. Oakland is 7-6 playing in that terrible division and 3-4 since losing their QB. They aren't a good team.

The Bears were playing without Forte and Cutler when the Tebow's beat them. They were 7-3 with Cutler and are now 0-3 without him.

When the Tebow's beat the Chargers, the Chargers were in the midst of a 6 game losing streak. But, they aren't as bad as their record indicates, although with that mush coach maybe they are.

I don't really recall anyone saying the Broncos can't win. And if trying to look at games a little more critically than "Timmy is da bestest. They win and he's da best." makes me a hater, so be it.

i dont think you are a hater. I've just said that the competition arguement is an arguement that "haters" use. because they are making up talking points that lack perspective because tebow keeps doing something they dont think he can do.. win.

I dont think the Broncos will beat the Patriots on sunday. the Pats are a top 3 team in football IMO. but what will be idiotic, is if the pats win, everyone who doesnt root for Tebow will be "hey look and see.. Tebow sucks" and he'll still be 7-2 for a team he took over at 1-4 and everyone predicted they put tebow in so they can get the first pick in the draft.

if DT makes that 55 yard TD catch he let slip through his hands... and Praters first 29 yard FG isnt blocked.. and the Broncos put up 20 points on Urlacher, Peppers, etc when they had those points in their grasp.... would you guys still be talking the same crap about the Broncos offense?

Would the broncos top 2 recievers be anything more than 4th or 5th WR's on 90% of NFL teams?
