I think they are very comparable except in that Zenyatta has never gone east and faced the best competition. If Azeri had stayed retired how would she have been remembered? Zenyatta did beat the boys but lets face it she isnt undefeated if she doesnt have a cupcake schedule.

Davidowitz is clearly suffering from a horse racing version of Stockholm Syndrome where he has been held captive by the idea that Curlin was one of the top 10 horses of all time, where horses regularly retire after the TC, where campaigns like Ghostzapper's are embraced, where winning streaks are suddenly important even if they are achieved without running against top competition, where rapid fan bases whose sense of history begins with Smarty Jones become experts. He is simply sympathizing with his captors.

I'll say this if I was at the OTB and on one side sat Steve Davidowitz, on the other side sat Brian S Spencer, no disrespect to Brian who do you think I am going to listen to? Right, if Andy Beyer can seek his advice, that's good enough for me.

since i've had the pleasure of hanging out at the track with brian, sharing a few beers, i'd choose to listen to him. and who knows, he may write a book someday.

matter of fact, had davidowitz shone his spotlight on rachel instead, i doubt you'd be so full of praise for his spectacular insight.

It goes without saying, but I'll say it anyways.

I suppose thinking for yourself would be out of the question?

While Davidowitz is a top handicapper, it is just embarassing (as was Davidowitz's aritcle) that you are writing this stuff. Is your nose brown?

Kinda reminds me of a tune I heard.

Clowns to the left of me
Jokers to the right of me.

Here I am, stuck in the middle with myself.

Davidowitz went down for the count on ATR today. After hearing his insane rationale about Zenyatta being the best ever female horse he should stay down. The guy is embarrassing.

Talk about some of the worst logic in DT history to try to get an answer you're looking for that proves nothing.

That's like asking if you go to ask a college professor with 30 years experience a very important question or whether you ask the student with 5 years experience?

It's a really neat question, but has absolutely NOTHING at all to do with whether or not the college professor can be wrong about anything. Sorry to bring some sense into all this -- I know how much you hate it -- but "hey look this guy's been around for ages, and this guy is a noob" says nothing about whether guy who's been around for ages is capable of being wrong. (Hint: he is) I'd trust him over me most days too -- it doesn't mean he's infallible and untouchable when he is completely out of his mind like this.

So, of course, no disrespect taken from some anonymous internet yahoo who can't even make an apt comparison to begin with, but you get zero points for this -- it's not even close to relevant.

The more apt question would be crazyface CSC on one side, Brian "S" Spencer on the other: who do you listen to? See where we go from there, FFS, you disingenuous tool.

The thing is, if she runs in the 2002 BC Classic, she has a very good shot at winning. She was in peak form at that point and that was a pretty weak BC Classic. Instead, they wait until she is past her peak and throw her to the wolves against Ghostzapper and Rosesinmay.

Still, I think Zenyatta is a better mare. I think the dirt/synthetic thing is way overblown with this one. Chuck, is there a horse out there right now besides Quality Road that you would bet even money on against her in a full field 10f race on dirt?
