You know I am going to take back what I just posted. I am watching the replay on ESPN.com and here is what I see...Coming to the far turn, the 6 horse runs out of gas...the 9 passes him on the rail...at this point the 1 horse is a tad off the rail and then moves ever so slightly to the rail...at this point you can see the jock on the 9 angle the horse to the outside of the 1 but to the inside of the 10 horse. At this point the 9 runs out of gas leaving plenty of room for SS to pass him on the rail and for SS to have a path to go to the outside of the 1 and to the inside of the 12. After this it was all over.

To me it is simply amazing how much faster SS was moving compared to all the other horses when they are about midway through the final turn.

how do you "float" out to the left? The rail is to the jocks left and away from the rail is to his right..

I meant right, but in my follow-up post I said I was changing what I previously wrote.

The follow up post was very descriptive, havent yet re watched the tape but I will with that post. Wasnt sure when you said you were "taking it back" that you meant you would delete the post, edit the post, or we were supposed to understand that post 22 replaced post 21...
