Both Afleet Angel and Native Hawk had the same parents.
Both had somewhat short, but successful careers (although at a much lower level than Afleet Alex did).
I believe they would be 5-yo's this year, and I assume they are retired as neither has raced in over a year, and once AA became huge, their connections probably figured to cash in, if they could.
I thought Native Hawk was out of a different mare.

Unforgettable Max was a very nice looking horse. (AA's full sib.) Looked him up on pedigreequery.com. Won over 300,000.00. 23 starts, 5 wins, 3 seconds, and one third. Not bad. Anyone know anything else about him?

Unforgettable Max? He ran pretty recently, I believe NY to Maryland, and he was OK. Is it possible he was second in the General George at a big price to a Dutrow horse two or three years ago? I want to say it was the one Badge of Silver was in.

I'm sure. I think Bruce Levine was training him then but I am not certain about that. Well Fancied was the Dutrow mirage that beat him.

ESPN just sent a crew out to where Barbaro is according to attheracesandbeyond. I think I'm going to vomit.

Janine Edwards had planned on going for tonight's sportscenter as an update because of Saturday's surgery. Nothing new, he is actually doing much better today.

He is digging in and holding on.

(I stole that from the stretch call from I think Strike the Golds derby).

Wasn't he trained by Ben Perkins? I also think he was second or third in the Tom Fool at a decent price, too.

Unforgettable Max's former owner is from NJ.

I found this quote about him..

"A winner of both starts at age two, Unforgettable Max won five of 23 career starts and earned $384,079. The son of Northern Afleet won the Shecky Greene Stakes at Delaware Park, finished second in the General George Handicap (gr. II), Salvator Mile (gr. III), Discovery Handicap (gr. III), and Jim McKay Breeders' Cup Handicap, and third in the Tom Fool Handicap (gr. II) victory of Ghostzapper."

im very worried for barbaro based on a previous experience. my trainer had a horse who won 3 in a row for him here last year named sir bunny who a downstate trainer claimed off him. well this year he idiodically/not caringly ran the horse up here at hawthorne 2 weeks back after literally limping off the track the previous time out. well you can guess he broke down and one of the other owners in the barn tried to save the horse and payed for all of bunnies medical expenses ata equine clinic in MO. bunny came outta the surgery good like barbaro but later on started getting infections and fevers just as barbaro and had to eventually be put down=( every horse and every case is different but i truly fear for the horses surivival right now

Nice that you are worried for him, but he is doing better today. Still a coin flip.

I hope there is no new news on him for a while.. no news is good news in this situation.

"During" by Cherokee Run beat Unforgettable Max in the Discovery (G3.)
