The owner interviewed well, invited my friends to where he lives/works, and introduced them to his brother and his brother's Labrador (with whom the pit bull got along great, so it looks like he'll have a buddy, too). Best of all, he said my friends can come out and visit whenever they want.

The dog's new owner will call in a week if he doesn't want him after all, and my friends will take him back in that case. And they asked him for right of first refusal if he ever has to give away the dog.

Hooray for one more off the streets (and now neutered and with his shots)!
Glad to hear that he found a home, Nicole... it was a really good thing that you did by picking him up off of the street.

He's not the only one losing them- there are several stray cats around the actor housing and one of the other actors has made it his job to find homes for the more tractable ones, including a bit tomcat who he is trying to catch and take to be neutered. Not surprisingly, since he made this decision, we've seen neither hide nor hair of the tomcat (who formerly came by every night). I think "Big Balls" as we dubbed him, is aware if he shows up he's going to end up being renamed "S'noball."
