I was so impressed with this filly from the Oaklawn races, I saw that she was special and thought she's aquit herself very well here which she did, only losing to a possible TC winner. really a sad moment.

Sharp Humor was not last year. He ran in '06.

It is too bad about Eight Belles. She was a talented filly.

I can't even remember a horse breaking both ankles in a race.

****.

I didn't like her today, and then spent the first thirty seconds after the race talking about how impressed I was with her, how she was more shocking to me than Big Brown and that she proved herself over and over today.

Whoever said that it's so easy to love and hate this game at the same time -- i couldnt have said it better myself.

rip

Well said. Exactly what I was thinking.

I'm sitting here in disbelief, the live coverage of the race we got cut out soon after Big Brown crossed the wire, so I didn't see it happen. Terrible.

R.I.P.

What's really too bad too is, she probably wouldn't have racerd again anyway. With Larry Jones having the other best filly in America in his stable, what motivation there have been to run 8 Belles anymore. She would've gotten big bucks at for her broodmare services.

But R.I.P. She ran her heart out. It sucks...

Cast a pall over the whole day....

Glad I didn't have her in any of my bets,I couldn't have cashed that ticket

with any real joy.

There may be something wrong with me, but my initial reaction to a horse going

down is "How is the horse?" Secondly...is the jock OK?

This is a real bummer and ranks right up there with the Barbaro tragedy to me.
