Now, unless I can't read, Obama isn't saying what Dimmy was passing off as what he said, but no surprise there. Still waiting Dimmy.

and that makes sense-we all know that congress can get sidetracked as easily as a two year old on a playground.

Pres elect Obama is the soon-to-become leader of the greatest country on earth.... since he had been elected, he is getting briefed just like Bush gets briefed... basically information that only the executive office knows.

When you are running for president you talk about your vision & things that you want to get done. BUT, if then presented with classified information that changes a scenerio, you have to do what is best for the country even if it isnt what you were talking about while running. That is a quality that Obama looks like he has... and I wouldnt want anything less from the President.

I think you will be surprised Timmy, so far, IMO Obama has shown wisdom and integrity. I personally think he will govern from the center, or even more from the right. He's already pissing off Dems, which I think is awesome, because for me, it makes me feel like Obama will make a decision based on what he thinks is the best thing for the country.... not just that party line bulljive.

I know I went for McCain and all, but I am proud and happy that Obama is going to be our President. I would have been proud and happy with McCain also. I didnt really trust Obama during the race, but since then he has shown a lot of great character IMO.. he put together a top class cabinet and just seems like the right man for the job.

Timmy, I think it would be best for you to drop the conspiricy theories and back Pres-elect Obama. He's going to be our leader for the next four years whether you like it or not, and during this interesting time in history, it would be nice to have a unified America.

I have no idea if my post made any sense.
AT: My exact point is that he raised the expectations so high with campaign rhetoric that it will be impossible to achieve what he promised. Add to that he's now getting the real skinny on what's going on....so for the last month or so...he and the libs who protect him are floating the "lower your expectations, people" theme. 2) his cabinet is doing great except for the Richardson blunder, and the Eric Holder confirmation which could be tough to do, and the fact nobody wants the commerce job now...and yeah, Panetta is the salt of the earth..but does he have the guts to protect our country?

Don't count on me joing the "Kumbaya"!
btw...why don't we have his school records, health records or any other of the things that other candidate had to provide? just curious

i don't get it - the campain pledge was to end the bush tax cuts for the wealthy , not let them wait to expire after his first 2 yrs in office

why can't the top rate on income move uo from 35% to 39% retoactive 1/1/09?

Maybe because things are so bad that 4% of someone's $1 Million per year AGI might be better in the market place that with the IRS.

IMO Because Obama has to take care of his true and supportive friends like Penny Pritzker. 4% of a couple billion is real $$$$.

Probably not, but the way things are now, all bets are off.

As an aside, I think being flexible..aka..changing your mind based on circumstances is a positive. Some call it flip-flopping, but in principal he still believes in the tax hike.

and she's in line to be commerce secretary. She's real green too. Flies in and out of her Lake Geneva WI home on a private 9 seat helicopter. Not sure if it runs on bio fuel or solar energy. Can't be the later because sometimes she flies over at night. mmmmm Remember her and family being involved in a savings and loan or bank fiasco. I'll look into that later.

You are correct. Good thing for Obama too with her family's bank history. Goody more late night fly-overs.

anyone critical of obama for being a realist needs to recall that george bush was incredibly inflexible-his way or no way. look where that has gotten us.

oh, wait...can't blame him for it, he was only doing what god told him to.

George Bush was a Democrat in my eyes

and all of our problems are because he failed to change Clinton policy

Obama is a realist? Not my reality

i meant that regarding him wanting the economy to be the first priority, and that his other stuff will have to wait. he also recognizes that our federal govt cannot walk and chew gum at the same time, so he can't expect them to tackle more than one issue at a time.

how the hell did we become the lone superpower?!
