![]() Inside Post said 85 will need stitches, but walked back to the barn. Chavez initially got up, but went to North Shore.

I was basically poking fun at your unfortunate wording ("he blew the turn and the jock pulled him up"--as though it was no big deal) immediately after touting him as the Gotham winner. Nonetheless, I'd still argue with you even if you had merely said the race was a "throwout". This was not a stumbled start, slipped saddle, broken rein, etc. If I had to take a guess, I'd suggest that the horse was very rank and resented any sort of restraint from Chavez, causing him to bolt. That spells one thing in my mind..."runoff". And while his trainer may be able to get him to navigate the turn next time out, there's still undiscovered country afterward in terms of the route of ground. If he is truly a "runoff" then lots of luck keeping up a breakneck pace around two turns. His best chance would be to show up in a first condition, but even a drop in class isn't always good insurance to get a sprinter to stretch out, especially a rank one. Witness Zensational's pathetic attempt last year. |

I try to give people the benefit of the doubt when it comes to having at least a modicum of intelligence, thus being able to see what is entirely obvious, hence I never posted my thoughts on this horse prior to today. Did I anticipate what happened today? Certainly not. Does this mean I redboarded him in my post? I guess if you have a tiny little brain and are unable to see things with a clear mind, yes. |

That said, I'm going to go out on a limb here and say the horse will be lucky to emulate even horses like Corazondelcampeon or Sea Of Pleasure (who's connections also turned down big dough to roll the dice). |

![]() Before anyone tosses 85 as a hopeless nag - the bit broke before he bolted per Chavez's agent.

He basically posted the thread as soon as the horse bolted - (race went off at 1:27, his thread shows up at 1:28) - couldn't be bothered to wait until after the race - without any thought or concern as to whether the horse or jock was in any sort of distress. That's why I called him a dick. If the horse finishes running up the track, the connections eat a slice of humble pie and we all have a little chuckle and some light hearted jabs - that the derby trail. His post was classless, but I guess I shouldn't expect much from him given his history here. |
