is it the outer track at Aqueduct that everyone scratches when it's muddy because they don't want their horse to break down?

I remember Bill Mott talking about how he lost a good horse to the track just can't remember if it was inner or outer but it was definately mud

I have to call poor taste posting that. I've never heard such a thing at AQ at all.

I will be shocked if Calvello goes off at lower odds than Lloyd (and will be rushing to the window).

I agree it was in poor taste but I did hear it years ago.

(edit) This is all the way back in 1998

Time flies it seemed like it was just the other day

Bet we go off the "lukewarm" favorite......8-5 or 9-5 over Ryan's Gift 2-1

DRF closer look by Kenny Peck:

"LLOYDOBLER: Stakes-placed dam won twice in 8 starts; she's produced 8 other starters, all winners, including 7 runners who were multiple winners; '02 Derby Trial winner Sky Terrace was probably best of the lot; this colt weakened after flashing speed at a mile in his latest but he closed nicely in his debut, at this distance, and he may be set up for his best try yet in his 3rd career start after that "bounce" in his latest."

This doesn't seem to take into consideration one of, if not the, goldest rails of this winter last out, the rankness and failure to change leads. Maybe we will get a better price than I was thinking!

LOL, as much as DT can completely change a pool at a smaller track, I don't think we can have that big of an effect at Aqueduct on a Saturday card. At least I hope . . . .

hmmm, hoping that King's Pardon goes off at close to the M/L was looking at using him with Lloyd and Cavello - KP would make the payout nicer ;-)

I'm not worried about LD in the mud, but I hope it stays nice for the people who will be there to see him run and they won't have to be decked out in not so flattering rain gear for the win photo.

Have a great time everyone. Run fast and stay safe, LD. Sending horse hugs from SE Virginia.

Anyone traveling tomorrow better check on the status of racing. They are calling for a major storm with heavy rain and major wind gusts. I would think that there is a good chance on them canceling tomorrow. Maybe Andy would know if they are discussing it at this point, but if the storm is as bad as they are saying I would think that the card is in danger.

Hmmmm....saw him on our BUZZ product for tomorrow for Horseplayer NOW, eyed by our NY handicapper -- guess who is tomorrow's BUZZ free play?

You guessed it.

http://www.horseplayernow.com/cat/buzz.htm

Our Eyes: Rank, hard to handle between on backstretch (1st two-turn try), still rank, finally settled, chased to top of stretch and tired. UPDATE: Switches back to on turn, where he ran a big second in his debut two-back. -- Brian Nadeau

Go get 'em, guys.

Good Luck tomorrow gang, but it's been raining pretty hard here in Jersey for about 90 minutes already and it's not supposed to let up until Sunday. Even worse is that there has been some real fierce gusts of wind. Safe travels for those of you going, but I would definitely double check in the morning if they are indeed racing.

Racing has indeed been cancelled at Aqueduct today...

That's a bummer...

Guess we will wait for them to recard the race? I also see there is a 6F MSW in Philly on 3/22 (KNS / Lloyd doubleheader??).

On a seperate note, was planning to bring the kids. Last night my daughter who will be 5 kept saying she wanted to go in the "attic". After about 10 times I asked, why do you want to go in the attic so much? She replied "to see Lloydobler and all the horses".

Then she asked if you had to speak Spanish to be a jockey. Kids really are great...

That's really sweet and sorry but part of me is wondering what kinda comeback Coach could come up with to that last line...

My daughter, who is quite a bit older, asks if I'm going to my "horse cruelty thing" on days when I go to the track.

She's a PETA member in training.

Very sorry about Aqueduct today you guys. That sucks.
