Joel is 3rd in North America in purses. Martin 4th.

3&4 seem happy to me.

Our ring is So Cal racing. Both guys love it here. Have great lives and make plenty of money.

As long as racing exisits in So. Cal. I and hopefully anyone I advise will be right in the middle of it fighting for whatever chips are on the table.

That IS NOT going to change.

Don't bother.

Thanks for listening.

3 and 4 (fine jocks) won't be 3 and 4 much longer, but you know that because you recognize they will be running for purses less then second rate curcuits.. Vic the patient is dying, the captain dies in the end as the boat sinks to the bottom

Joel finished 5th overall in North America last year and never once rode a race outside California. If the patient dies I'll be at bedside holding his hand.

I think they are two very sharp young jocks..They race against swill but that is another issue and doesn't mean they couldn't complete against the best.. ANYHOO they are racing on RUBBER and in a place were purses are in serious decline.. MORE IMPORTANTLY So Cal is a quickly becoming a joke.. Save the gold cup graded races will be at INDUSTRY MANDATED mins.. Realize an overnight stake at MP will be worth 20% more then a G3 at HP..

Vic could be racing for 7 mil a week instead he will race for 2 mil a week...

Of course we are still weeks, works and races away. Joel does have what I feel are legitimate Oaks and Derby prospects in Crisp and Dave in Dixie. We'll see what the future holds.

Thanks for asking.

No thanks for the sarcasm.

Thanks for listening.

Vic, kudos for taking most of the good natured and some not good natured barbs with class.

I've been a Martin Garcia fan since really before his "beginning." I think Derby Cat and I both touted some Joel Rosario when he was first appearing in the Bay Area.

I live in California now, and have for 10 years. But I cut my teeth following low to mid ranks midwest racing as a kid and then was a regular attendee at Gulfstream and Hialeah in the 1970's heyday.

I've been to multiple Kentucky Derby's, Woody Stephens numbers of Belmont's and one Preakness. Saratoga twice, and Del Mar once.

Toss in a Prairie Meadows, the requisite Beulah, some Sunland, Emerald Downs, Shakopee and Arlington Park and more, and I've been (about) everywhere (man).

I'm very happy that you share your thoughts and experiences posting here, and happy to occasionally get to follow and enjoy your work in Southern California.

Please tell me you only put Victor Espinoza on here because you have have letters in your first name in common. I can't and won't argue with the others but seriously, your two jocks are gonna put that dude out of business. He is horrendous.

I like the calendar from Santa Anita already graciously bequeathed by others here during the holiday season. Thanks for thinking of my holiday list, just the same.

Yeah it's understandable because you still have your dignity. That alone would make it nearly impossible to move east and kiss every ass and taint on the backside of Monmouth.

You better hope Drugs doesn't read that one. He's got some Espinoza stats that might make you change your mind.
