I think today's ride in the Withers might've cooked Edgar for good with the Dutrows.

I guess I am honored. Are you going with Esky in the Derby or Ice Box?

That was a truly terrible ride. The posted fractions were wrong but the pace was still hot, no need to try to rush up and try to fit through a small space when you're on the best horse.

Watch the headon of the race. It appears that Chavez, probably by intent, comes over aggressively to get the rail, forcing Prado towards the open rail and almost into the closed portion. I don't get what Prado is thinking. He almost went into the start/corner of the rail and could've easy had his horse bolt through the open rail area. All this because he absolutely MUST get into a duel. I don't get it with him. And after he's stopped, you'd think the idiot would just rate. Did he ever consider who he was chasing?

And I certainly don't get what Johnny V was doing. He turned what was a gift perfect trip into a premature move that cost him the win. Why must he go after the duelers on the turn -- and be widest doing it? All he has to do is wait until they enter. He could've gotten them at any point in the stretch. The only way he loses the race is by moving too soon and completely collapsing the race.

Only way any of this **** makes sense is to just assume they're all retards.

I agree that this is a very accurate assessment of the race. I can't even fatham what Prado was thinking. It wasn't enough that he made a terribly premature move, he had to do it a second time after he checked? I get the feeling that the ride might really cost him some business in the future.

I also agree that JV's move was premature as well and that came on the heels of a pretty poor ride on He Ain't Easy the race before.
