Bernardini has had a number of turf winners overseas.

Just checked with Kiaran. It's Clark or Japan Cup Dirt..

Japan Cup dirt is ambitious. He would be a nice fit for the Clark.

They better not run him again after the Nashua until the Derby, though. Maybe the Preakness.

The California older turf horses are infinitely more terrible than those in the East. They're the weakest and most boring graded races in America right now.

As a group, I guess I would agree. I would take Champ over Paddy and Winchester any day though.

I think so too. He's still sort of green, but this seems like a logical step. He handles soft turf and I guess he'd handle firm - he's won on the poly already.

He has and I make a point of getting up pretty early on weekends to catch the races. I'm disappointed that Theyskens' Theory, a group 3 winner and 3/4 sister to Stephen Got Even, isn't making the trip; she's really bred for dirt.

Based on what? He barely beat that terrible group in his last two. Winchester and Paddy aren't world-beaters, but they'd crush this horse. And will in the BC. . . for fourth.

I never said anything about how well he would run or if he would even be competitive, what I did say was that I didnt see him on the list and that I gave him a treat this morning and that he looked 100%.... alive.
You cant win if you dont run.
