I really thought that there was nothing wrong with the call. My only critique would be that he was a little slow to call Blame getting to the lead. But he was probably looking to see if Zenyatta was able to get clear to the outside.
I didn't think it was overkill, especially early in the race when it looked like something might have been wrong. When your 19-19 4/5 favorite (and the main focus of most of the mainstream World) is 16 lengths off the lead early it warrents maybe a little extra attention.
The stretch didn't bother me early, I'm guessing Trevor had an idea how he probably wanted to call it, and for a sec it looked like she was going to get by. Was it a little anti climatic at the end with Blame's race getting shortchanged a bit? maybe. But I really believe that there was nothing wrong with the call and I'm on record as not liking Trevor at all.
