Rooting for this one

"There's also a black cocker spaniel who was the No. 1 show dog last year — he's named Beckham, maybe a good omen since a 12-story ad featuring soccer star David Beckham posing in his underwear is painted on a building that overlooks the Garden.
Beckham the dog, by the way, beat out Malachy as the country's top-winning show dog in 2011."

I see the Malamute got 3rd in the working group.

Also happy to catch the end of the terrier group and see the Am Staff, Maddie, got 4th. She's a real sweetheart!

As usual an outstanding final group... Love that the pekingese won it.. He's just too adorable!

Really thought the Dalmatian was going to get first place though.

I confess: I laughed.

I had hopes - albeit small ones - that the GSD or the Dobi would win. But when the commentator repeatedly stated how many BIS's the Pekingese had won previously, an inner voice told me that that was all I needed to know.
It's so political.

That is the ugliest dog I've ever seen in my life.

And Scuds is the Jerry Sandusky of the dog world. I'd take 2/1 that he would hump that.

They have been teasing that Dobe, she will win it next year. Gotta pay your dues.

Whatever.. He looked cute waddling on the carpet.

There were a lot more dogs there that were uglier that's for sure.

lol
have never been a fan of the pekingese...or other 'frou frou' dogs as i call them. and yes, there were other less than attractive dogs-but we're talking about the supposed best in show, right? and along those lines, there were certainly dogs there that were far more attractive. as well as useful!
i thought the fox terrier was a fabulous looking dog. but i'm always more inclined to favor the german shepherds, retrievers, some of the hounds, the terriers..i thought the malamute was beautiful, the weimeraner as well.

komondors, pulis, afghan hounds, poodles, you guys can have them! yuck

pekes aren't dogs, they're clumps of fur with two bulging eyes. looks like something i dumped out of the vacuum dirt cup.

I hear ya... However, there was a reason it won 114 previous shows.

Perhaps lots of politics involved for his reason of winning.

Who knows, who cares... I can't wait for next years!

in an evolutionary sense this animal is all in on civilization. it lasts precisely one generation absent human vanity.

we seem to have an urge to build freaks in our companion species.

i don't blame the dog but it's a meal not a sex partner once you remove human influence.
