Oh yes, now they are all cleaned up. LOL. I guess there are steroids in baseball now too. LOL. Somehow NYRA continues to lose millions each year though.

NYRA will be gone soon, so it doesn't matter. I guess you guys all hate cheaters, unless those cheaters are people you know.

Here are some funny things.

NYRA gave a $797,913 contract for Internet services to a firm owned by Michael Ferdman and his wife, Stephanie Leigh Schwartz, daughter of ex-CEO Barry Schwartz. That contract continues.

NYRA Paid two horse transporters $384,244 to move horses between the Belmont, Aqueduct and Saratoga tracks operated by NYRA. Some of the free transportation was for horses owned by NYRA board members.

NYRA owes state taxpayers $15.3 million because of mismanagement

A non-profit in horse racing is ridiculous, and that goes for Keeneland too. They aren't really non-profits, they are ways for people that are corrupt to milk money out of the system. That contract does NOT continue. As for the specifics of Michael's work on the website, perhaps Barry should have forseen the appearance of a conflict of interest, but the facts ( since you are the self-proclaimed fact matron of this site ) are that his firm did the job and charged no more than any other competent firm would have charged for a comparable job.

Yes, they paid for transportation for those who paid to stable their horses at NYRA tracks other than the one currently racing. Nobody was treated differently, whether you were a trustee or Lael Stable or Joe Nobody, and this claim you, factgal, have chosen to use as an example was actually a distortion of the facts as no rules were broken.

The really funny thing though is how NYRA just left out Breeders Cup weekend from last year. If they included it the numbers would be down. What do we just pick the numbers we like. Last I checked the point was to increase handle no matter what, and NYRA did not do that.

It is like a pizza parlor in a Superbowl city going out of business and saying our revenue was up this year if you don't count the superbowl weekend from last year. Who cares. The revenues are still down.

With due respect, you're points are misdirected.. If you want to say the franchise is better off in the hands of a for-profit, then just say so and say why. But to drag dead issues up over and over and over is pointless. You continue to use the misdeeds of prior management to paint current management as responsible.

Frank Stronach paid his son $2-$3 million in severance pay for the job he held at Gulfstream less than 4 months... What's your point? That nepotism finds its' way into business? Change your moniker to "Revolation" then..

You continue to EVADE the germain issue that the Noe-Meyocks-Schwartz administrations are long gone at NYRA... You refuse to address that.

And not to pull the insights card, but you're off base on where the alliances lie in terms of the state government and the forces involved with the bidding.

Don't tell me there aren't payoffs and kickbacks to get space selling food at Saratoga. That would be an insult to my intelligence.

If NYRA is so great, why can't they do this as a for profit. Why do they need to be a non-profit? Perhaps because it is a little harder when you have to answer to shareholders than corrupt politicians that can be bought off with a few seats at Saratoga.

I think my credibility speaks for itself.. And consider your intelligence insulted because vendors work with Centerplate, the contract feeder that operates concessions at the tracks. NYRA has no day to day involvement with the foodservice operations. NONE. Is Centerplate not entitled to make money on their investments in operating the concessions? They AREN'T a non-profit. They do however have to move equptment all over thye place and bring staff upstate to run the SAR operation, etc. Again, you are out of your element on this topic.

Tough and fair question.. I'd have to guess that a lot of the financial struggles stem from the issues with the NY OTB Corporations, the poor structuring of that relationship as originally legislated by the State, and the original under-valued contracts with them and with other signal vendors.

All things that can be fixed. A non-profit can benefit the game by taking the shareholder equity issue out of the equation. If no money has to go in that direction, it can be funneled back into the facilities, the purses, the game, the state's breeding program, etc.

I respect that many believe we're all better off with a for-profit, but I'm kind of perplexed that you find the benefit of a non-profit model hard to understand or appreciate.
