If find it very interesting that the captain (Pronger) wasn't with the team during the playoffs.

Also I don't think it was necessary for Holmgren to comment about the negatives regarding Bryz to the media. He's going to be a Flyer for a long time and seems like the sensitive type (I know not exactly a good fit for the Philly area) But he really kept them in it against the Devils and Holmgren should have focused on the positives.

I would have been more apt to call him out if he bombed in the playoffs. The Flyers/League agreed to the HBO show (which got the comedy ball rolling), not Bryz. Besides there were a lot of other guys who disappeared/stunk against the Devils.

Crosby missed a couple playoffs if memory serves, and I don't think he traveled around with the Penguins during that time.

I know one shouldn't scoff at an injury like Pronger's, but honest to goodness, it couldn't have happened to a nicer guy. Dirtiest a-hole this side of <insert Pittsburgh Penguin here> in the NHL.

Lets hope the new collective bargaining agreement has the one contract buyout clause that they are talking about adding.

I'm psyched for this offseason. The Predators alone have like 10 guys who any team should be psyched to sign to a long-term deal. Lots of talk of Detroit adding Parise, but I'm really hoping they bring in Semin, who I think would fit with their Euros and perhaps just needs a fresh start out of DC. Ryan Suter is a given.

if you get him, i hope the moments of brilliance make up for the many moments of torture. not sure if i want him to stay or go, he's quite an enigma.

and i had thought the panthers growl was ridiculous, but i think the coyote howl is worse.

As for me, I have the unenviable task of keeping Golfer sane throughout tonight.
You couldn't have picked a better team to face in a G7. The Caps have the worst history of playoff heartbreak in the sport, and maybe any sport, bar none. My only glimmer of hope is they already won a G7 on the road against the defending champions, so maybe this team is different...but I doubt it.

I'm not sure I'd be betting on an empty net goal. It is probably more like "Who will score the winner in the 4th OT?"

like they say about mutual funds, past performance is no guarantee of future results. capitals have exhibited a lot of tenacity this entire post-season. i don't expect them to go gently into that good night. if the rangers escape, they will have had to earn it.
