I have been the biggest ND fan since I can remember. I love the movie Rudy, call me a Rudy all you want.I have been to numerious ND football and basketball games, and even a few hockey and baseball. I haven't missed watching a ND football game since I was 7. Everything about ND is special to me, but if your not a fan you can't understand it. Nothing can compare to the tradition of Notre Dame, I don't need to argue my point anymore.

When is the last time we actually beat a ranked team, Honestly, Michigan spanked ND, USC spanked ND. only so much you can defend.
ND be the 3rd ranked Wolverines in the Big house two years ago, I was there.

you guys get on me and attack me about ND and are just like all the ND haters across the world, but I feel bad for you guys that you don't have a team with so much tradition to cheer for. I was just pointing out how much the feeling you get going to an ND game and walking around on the campus gives you compared to any other college. I've been to a lot of campuses, none compare to ND . That is my only point.

every program has down years, the good programs recover and rebuild, which is what ND is doing right now. Next year is no National Championship year in football as they are young, but in the next 2-6 years ND will have 3 National Championships. I guarentee Jimmy Claussen gets one for the irish.

I dont hate Notre Dame I think its a great school.
But ND best stay out of football conference play, they just dont get it done anymore. History and trends change. This school has continued its high academic standards, but football... bad now. Sorry but tell it like it is. Last National Championship was when....?

He had Tatem going against Young until they were almost HOSPITALIZED. THEY EARNED team respect. They earned their coaches respect.

Like people respected Brady Quinn, all he cared about was his NFL contract. Trust me, I know ALOT about Notre Dame, I live in their biggest alumni area and have been to many games. Notre Dame was built on CASH, not on anything you are describing. Go watch Rudy again and believe that is actually what happened.
That's one of the most ridiculous things I have read on here. Please don't try to tell me the SIU basketball program gives out no scholarships. I think to play basketball at SIU you have to be a REALLY good high scool player or a JC transfer and win a scholarship much like goes on at other schools....that's how they "earn" their way onto the team. My guess is they have to "earn" their way into the lineup...pretty much like all the other schools as well. My guess is however, SIU gives out a few b-ball scholarships here and there and most likely most of their players tonight were on them.

academic standards have allowed other schools to catch up with ND in football. That's alright to me, cause do I want them to change their standards, NO! That is another reason ND is what it is, they don't let bums like Randy Moss in, instead those thugs need to go to USC, Florida State, and Miami. Academic standards suck when it comes to sports (cause most of these athletes are dumb as a box of rocks), but its what makes going to ND and playing football for them what it is.

Thankyou!!!! These guys are giving there starting jobs at ND because they are good and earn it. At SIU you must have to go through bootcamp to get that job.

I don't question their heart or effort tonight. Tremendous. An outstanding team.

I just looked at SIUs bball schedule and results from this year, and can you please tell me one real team they played and beat, I would like to hear it. Losing to Bradley, Evansville, who is Evansville???? They did get a big win over Va Tech this year however. SIU was not a good team, and they had a cake road to the sweet 16. Holy Cross and Va Tech are WEAK, if they would have played a real team they would have been done.
Who is Evansville may you ask? Evansville is the team that is 2 hrs away and is a conference rival. That was an easy prediction that UE would hold court at home and win against SIU. I even told Scavs that last Summer. Maybe ND should try to come down here and play. Its almost as bad as playing in Vandy and trying to win.

Who is Evansville? Evansville is the school that gave a Golf scholarship to a certain South Bend native back in the Spring of 1990, that ND never did once take a look his way (like he was really had them on their list of schools). Then as a Student Golfer, he ended being medalist the final year of the Burke Memorial Invitational in the Fall of 1990. Oh yes Burke Memorial, the former home of ND and last I knew was down to 9 holes due to needed land for more student housing. Then they built some some decent, but overpriced golf course on the other side of campus designed by Ben Crenshaw. You talked hockey, I talk Golf. If I had a shot at taking a look at past scores of the MCC Conference Tournament, I'm pretty sure this UE topped ND each time. Yes ND was in this conference at one time for certain sports. I believe also that this conference was filled with nothing but MID MAJORS!

By the way Holy Cross would have beaten ND. That was a bad draw for the Crusaders

I don't have a Charlie Weis poster yet, I do need on though. I will be married soon, so I don't have to worry about finishing myself off.

Notre Dame would lose if they played at Roberts Stadium.

and are my predictions really a suprise to anyone?? How am I trying to get props for them??? I don't care who ND is playing in any sport, I will predict them to win! I don't bet on ND, so when I do bet sports I will post my bet on here, and if I lose I own up to it. My latest was Va Tech -2.5 and they won by 2, and I never backed down from that.

Dahoss, I feel bad for you. It is obvious you live your life through this message board. You obviously don't have any other relationships with anyone besides the members on here, and you are forced to watch porn because that is the only way you can get any kind of love. I will stop argueing you because I do pity you, that is all.

If you don't think the Missouri Valley is an outstanding b-ball conference, you need help. Some years...not every year, I would almost put it on a par with the Big 10. They weren't far from having two sweet 16 teams...didn't Creighton take UNLV to overtime?? To answer your question, every team in the MVC is real.

Are you serious? Do u remember when Randy Moss was signed, sealed and delivered for ND after FSU dropped him. Holtz had no choice but to drop him after a marijuana arrest AFTER his arrest for aggravated assault that cost him a ride at FSU. Do you think those "student-athletes" at ND carry the same grade point average as the rest of the student body at ND? Well they don't. And they don't graduate every athlete that puts on a uniform for ND. ND is a wonderful school with a great tradition. But the truth today is that they wet the bed whenever they hit the national stage at the end of the year when the games count. And don't bring up that hockey crap either. Nobody cares. this thread was about SIU and the gutty effort they gave tonight. Scavs has posted all season about their efforts and was giving them a good sendoff. Don't belittle SIU's accomplishments with the nonperformance exhibited yet again by ND.
