They didn't sound confident about him before the race but he's won it by 4. This has been a performance of a very promising stayer, carrying the same colours as Yeats. Unlikely to ever be anywhere near as good as his stablemate, because this was a performance that displayed much more in the way of stamina than class, but it looks to me like he'll be competitive in some of the same races.
Veracity and Secret Tune both stayed well, while Serengeti ran a game race on what was obviously unsuitable ground.

Slightly harsh on Mahler, i think. He did it really well today, considering he was running on ground which apparently he wouldn't have liked.
I still have a lot of faith in this fella, even over shorter distances.
