Default Sumwon to work on main track Saturday

ChuckBlog update: Sumwon works tomorrow morning.

Hope all the DTers at Saratoga get to see her, and report back!

Sounds like CS is planning to work her just before the break...I'll try to get a couple of pics of her from the clubhouse turn, with the clubhouse/grandstand in the background...
or maybe from the backstretch...

usually they close the main track for harrowing at about 8:30 and reopen around 9:00

interesting
they were talking about them sealing the track on Steve's show this afternoon

I would think with Bates Motel in her pedigree she would like off going
but Chuck didn't work her on the off going
once before I think

does an off track increase your chances of injury?

Thanks! Get a picture of the DTers, there, too, if you can?

Are Chuck, Steve and Willie wearing their new hats?

Is Willie going to work her, or Cherie?

I never get weather.com, I just left Saratoga Springs and it was raining. Yet on their website it currently says 50% chance of rain...I guess that is the safe way to never be wrong.

Anyway, looks like the weather report is staying the same for awhile.

50% chance of rain means there is 100% chance of rain for 50% of the viewing area

I just heard on the local OTB here in Albany, that it started raining this morning just after 8AM and the track was sealed during the break. Even though the track was listed as fast, it may have had some moisture. I'm sure someone else can confirm later. Sumwon's work was the slowest of 16. I'm not sure if that is what Chuck was looking for, but we can fnd out more later.

Track was sealed and she ran in a downpour. Impossible to compare her time to anyone before the break. Chuck seemed pleased with it and she looked good to my untrained eye. Now let's just hope that allowance fills next week.

I think that, more than the time, how she came back from the work is the most important factor. Before her slight break, Sumwon ran a 1:03 workout , which wasn't what Chuck wanted, and Sumwon was sluggish afterwards. Hopefully, she doesn't leave any feed today and is her usual charming self.

We'll have to wait for a later report from Chuck and any other DTer who stops by the stable.

Well, that's good news. We'll have to see if we can drag Chuck or Steve away from all the Saratoga excitement for comment later tonight perhaps.

Sniper, does Chuck have a daily peppermint ingestion limitation?

It rained hard just before her work....the track was sealed at the break...I got one pic of her from the backside as she was galloping up to start her work (at about the 3/4 pole)...the rain had almost stopped when she worked...If the pic looks at all good I'll post it here later this evening...

Hopefully the work wasn't as bad as it looks on paper.

I hope Chuck can give us the low down

if this is her last race before he gives her time off I feel obligated to go
but if she isn't ready I would hate to make the trip.

Work was fine. The track was sealed after the renovation break and the day's only heavy downpour ensued seconds after the tractors finished. Cherie called the track sticky and heavy and Sumwon got over it well.. finshed strong.. galloped out nicely.. came back swell.

As for finishing the sophomore campaign, a good effort Sunday would likely yield a trip to Philadelphia Park in September.

I think Chuck eluded to it when I met with him but can you fill us in why only one more race over the next six months? Or is this just a freshening for the fall campain?

Thanks,

Spyder

Spyder,

I beleive it was mentioned that they would give her some time off and head to New Orleans for the Fairgrounds meet. I believe that meet opens on Thanksgiving day.
