Same here Kev.. This will be my first year to work as well. Course I will be off in time to watch the race, but I won't be doing the "Breakfast at Churchill" and counting down the hours 'till I heat up that Cheese Queso...

I totally agree...it's like the Masters. Oh course this years Masters is alot like this years Derby....not an exciting field with leaders from unknown parts of the sport.

Anyway, as someone said the undercard usually is great and lots of great races leading up to the Derby and by the time they sing Old Kentucky Home I'll have a pick and be ready for a great race.

No, not you or anyone specifically, I was more or less referring to comments I've heard in general about this being a crappy derby.

Kentucky Derby is never crappy....nor is the "new & improved" F.P. O.T.B.!

I also thought that he made a VERY nice move in the FoY. He's got a win at CD where he beat Recapturetheglory pretty easily, he's 2-for-2 at 9F on dirt and has the pedigree to run all day. His 98 BSF stacks up pretty well with this group and he'll be a pretty big price. Sold yet?
I'm tossing him.

Scat Daddy would be the favorite and could very well win it this year.

Why wouldn't Scat Daddy be the favorite in this group?

You're kidding, right? And Scat Daddy finished 18th last year, by the way. . . Were there really 17 horses last year better than the top of this crop?

Sorry, my love for Scat Daddy leading up to the Derby last year is coming out. He was my horse all the way until the day of the derby, and then I switched. I was down to my last $10 come post time and put $5 to win/place on Hard Spun, closest I've come to picking a winner.

It's pretty bad I was down to my last $10, but I just got back from giving all my money to Vegas the day before.

i'll use 1 or both fillies if they run, especially Eight Belles.

OOOO so your telling me that since he got 18th last year that the 17 that finished ahead of him were def. better horses? You know that's not true.

Eight Belles has not shot to win. Proud Spell would have a slight shot.

Just for fun here is the order of finish from the 07 Derby, and how I match Scat Daddy up with them.

Street Sense > Scat Daddy
Hard Spun > Scat Daddy
Curlin > Scat Daddy
Imawildandcrazyguy < Scat Daddy
Sedgefield < Scat Daddy
Circular Quay = Scat Daddy
Tiago ???? Scat Daddy last year, Tiago looks good now so tossup.
Any Given Saturday > Scat Daddy
Sam P. < Scat Daddy
Nobiz Like Shobiz = Scat Daddy
Dominican < Scat Daddy
Zanjero < Scat Daddy
Great Hunter = Scat Daddy
Liquidity < Scat Daddy
Bwana Bull < Scat Daddy
Storm in May < Scat Daddy
Teuflesberg < Scat Daddy
Scat Daddy
Stormello < Scat Daddy
Cowtown Cat < Scat Daddy
