Default 9/1: Saratoga (Finale); PA Derby (PHA)

The 42 days of Saratoga come to a close this afternoon: always a melancholy arrival. As much fun as these six weeks can be, they are also intense, grueling and frenetic. It has been a particularly memorable meet for me personally, and I hope that between the 'At the Races' broadcasts from here and attempts to help you make money with the daily selections, that I've been able to provide a portion of the Saratoga Summer experience. The first 21 days of the meet were the most lucrative for my plays, with these last 14 days a bit of a struggle. One final shot to finish the meet on a positive. Hope you've done well and have enjoyed these wondrous 36 race days...

Steve,
Just wanted to be the first to thank you for all the work you have done in the past 6 weeks. I don't know how you maintain your level of energy for that long of a time. The hospitality you show at toga and the board are unmatched on any other board. Thank you again and it was great meeting you...

Thanks, Dalakhani. Really didn't think they were going to take the 2 down, thought they were going to blame JV for trying to go on the rail that wasn't quite there. These rarely go my way!

Good thing for you the stewards rewarded Velazquez for being a dumbass and trying to run through a hole that didn't exist. I'd love to know what Mrs. Holden did wrong in that situation.

That absurd DQ cost me 3 dimes of the super after I keyed Mrs. Holden on top. I still can't believe it. She kept her path, and the hole was open, but the 6 was green and didn't want to go through. I truly feel like the stewards stole from me and anyone else who bet the 2. There was absolutely no foul there and they should have a pretty damned good explanation on this one, especially considering the Frankel horses that were left up after causing more interference.

I'm turning myself out for a freshening for a few days....ultimately a reasonably profitable meet... but it certainly was a struggle the last week or so...

hmmm doesn't the friday card at Belmont gets drawn on Wednesday.
