He really makes me feel old. It is great to have things that you stand for and to fight for them and his enthusiasm over the issue is commendable. I get the impression that if he were voting and the only candidate on the ticket that was against abortion was Charles Manson, Charlie would get his vote.

I get that he's still in college, but his horizons need to be broadened. I would love to revist this thread after he gets out of school and spends about 10 yrs in the real world. I would assume, with his beliefs, that he will have about 8 kids running around (or a sexless marriage, take your pick) and he will be much more interested in the economy and his own job stability, and much less interested in a politician's view on abortion.
I guess having two older sisters (one which has 5 kids, the other has 3) and hearing their stance on abortion, going to right to life walks, seeing how emotonial they get and how they are brought to tears when they have to do public speakins on abortion kind of influences me. I go over to both my sisters houses about every other day just to play in the yard with my nieces and nephews, they are the reason I decided I want to be an elementary school teacher, and to think that some people out there would be able to give up on them and abort them before they have a chance almost makes me cry.

So if your asking if I would ever vote for someone who supported abortion, the answer is no, along with my whole family as well.

When it comes to something I believe in, I am very stubborn. I am not scared to listen to the opinions of others, or I wouldn't post topics like this on a message board. I probably come off as someone who is trying to be the perfect Catholic, but im not, I just try to follow my beliefs as best as I can. I am guilty of doing plenty of things the church says is wrong, so in no way am I trying to act like the perfect catholic cause I know I am not. When it comes to this issue I would never ever think of an abortion if my gf got pregnant, but im not perfect in the followings of the catholic church because I know I would struggle to support a baby so precautions such as birth control are used which is a big no no in the church.

Only reason I'm saying this stuff is so you guys know that I am open to others opinions even if it isn't what I believe in, and I did learn something from the article posted by brian.

www.notredamescandal.com

There's a black guy in the photo on the website supposedly taken at ND. Now I KNOW it's an April Fool's joke.

You're always money for at least one good synoptic quote per thread.
