Anyone want to watch real football, turn on the NFL network right now. Bears vs Packers in 1985. There was like 10 conduct penalties in the first quarter. It is awseome.

Jets had to front him $500k to deal with paternity suits before he went broke. He sounds like he's grown up a little bit though. I wish him well, obviously on the field, but off of it too.

I'm judging by what I've heard and seen from him since the trade. He's either been coached very well or he realizes he's been a dumbass and has to pay the consequences. He didn't run away from any questions, answered all of them about his kids/baby moms, the amount of which I thought was excessive BTW. I know you're happy Chris Henry died, but I don't automatically condemn dudes forever who grow up dirt poor and act foolishly when they first get money. I'd like to think I'd be more responsible if I became a millionaire overnight at 21, but I don't know for sure.

True, but as a lifelong Dolphins' fan I am contractually obligated to bring up 1972 in any such discussion.

I am also obligated to bring up the game in which Marino and the boys absolutely destroyed the vaunted '85 Bears defense.

Not for anything but if they are paying Tomlinson 5 million and change, why didn't they just keep Thomas Jones (I think he was due 5-6 million)? I'm not trying to compare the two career wise, but TJ has been much better as of late. He was also one of the leaders of the team. I know Tomlinson is probably a future hall of famer, but I think they were better off keeping Thomas Jones.

Jones wanted to be a starter more than he wanted to win. That's pretty clear by him going to the Chiefs. He wasn't going to accept less than 15 carries a game. Tomlinson appears more willing to accept a backup role.

Joey If you had your choice, who would you rather have next season. Tomlinson or TJ?

It's close, but Tomlinson. You might say I'm drinking the Kool-Aid, but TJ was largely a product of the best run blocking O-Line in the NFL. LDT, meanwhile, ran behind one of the worst. It's a huge difference. Tomlinson's also a much better receiver than TJ is.

Exactly, although on the surface it seems like the role they have envisioned for him is the same as Leon Washington. Assuming Leon's health, it's going to take some creativity to get them all on the field.

Fair enough, also I just realized this morning that it's 5 million and change over 2 years (no including any clauses that might be in there). So there is a considerable savings opposed to TJ.
I'll admit, I used to love Tomlinson (especially in my football betting days when he was at TCU). But I lost alot of respect for him that year he sat out with a sprained ankle again the Pats in the AFC title game. While Drew Brees played with some sort of tear inside his knee. I know that I have no idea what the extent of his injury was, but I just thought he came across as being soft and it seems like he was never the same player after that.

This move I didn't get. LT is d-o-n-e. Its not like that Charger line can't block. He just has lost too much to get there now. I didn't see the actual terms and I wonder how much is guaranteed.

I think this is a reach but we will see.
