blame, who i'd picked way back when, winning.
goldikova three-peating. an awesome horse.
dakota phone's win-love seeing an older horse triumph like that, repaying his connections for keeping him in racing.

worst:
having a horse break down.
them only showing zenyatta the whole time, with nary a glimpse of the rest of the classic field.
the mosses asking fans to be quiet.
What was that about the Mosses asking fans to be quiet? I recorded the shows too and skipped pretty much most of everything besides the actual race.

Frankly, I wish the Mosses would have come on DT and asked the fans to be quiet months ago.

Waffle House is way over rated.

Jeff Rubys was tremendous.

Lanes End was incredible.

Repole was hysterical.

She looked like she was getting a bit unerved.

Her groom was shushing the crowd, as well.

I didn't watch ESPN, so I don't know if it was brought up at all...but what a few days for Garrett Gomez. Falls on Thursday and is taken off the track in a stretcher after his mount breaks down and rolls on him. Wins with his first mount back the next day and then takes down 3 Breeders Cup races.

Pretty cool story.

First time there! It was great. Jack Frys has better food but the atmosphere at Jeff Ruby's was great. A lot of plastic there...and I'm not talking about credit cards.

Shared Account winning the f and M turf was great.

Zenyatta running her eyeballs out

Borel and Castellano fighting

The worst?

The lack of international interest. it didn't feel much like a "world" anything.

The cold. Mr. Byk was right. I was crying for so cal by 6 pm friday evening.

Well, truthfully, I'm only extrapolating from the portions I saw live. It might have been as low as 45 or 50.

When I heard Bill Nack lead off the broadcast on Friday I turned it off.

While sad on its own, I wouldn't call Rough Sailing exactly a break down...I'd call it a career-ending but freak injury that can happen in any sport. When it's a horse, it can be life-ending.

We've seen BC breakdowns...that was not in the same league.
