The very best horse, DaHoss. Don't expect you to have clue about her because you never did. Along with quite a few others.

LOL. She is done and you will never see a horse of her magnitude ever again. Never.

You think she is the best horse ever...but I don't have a clue? Makes sense. She was a very nice horse. Horses like Skip Away, Holy Bull, Formal Gold and Cigar would have trounced her. I don't see many arguements for them as best horse ever.

LOL

Congratulations on being a female idiot instead of a male idiot.

Now that that is out of the way....

You start with this gem.

So, which is it? You give a crap about HOY, or you don't?

Or, is it that you only care about it if Zenyatta wins it?

By the way, I like your use multiple use of LOL in this thread. It reminds me of your soul mate.

Zenyatta may have come up a bit short in this year's Classic, but there's not a horse in this world who could have made up that much distance to just miss.

LOL. What in the hell are all of you going to do without Zenyatta and her connections to bitch, gripe and whine about?
As far as making up distance,There are plenty of other horses. Here's one who WINS instead of "just missing"like Zenyatta did.

There is no HOY that will EVER come close to equalling those performances If she wins HOY this year, I would be ecstatic, but if she doesn't, I will always know she would have kicked Rachel Alexandra's ass into the next dimension. LOL
you don't care how about hoy, but your bitterness towards the horse who won hoy last year clearly shows thru. since when did rachel become the arbiter of who is good vs who is not? exactly what case are you attempting to make with your last line? after all, if zenyatta, as you assert, is the best ever-why even mention rachel? seems you'd be better served in comparing zenyatta to secretariat, citation, the bid, etc.

oh... wait. nevermind, she doesn't compare to them, therefore putting huge, gaping holes in your theory. there are plenty of hoy's who don't come close to equalling zenyatta, they exceed her. you're correct on that score.

Everybody is in entitled to an opinion. Theatrical is a big Zenyatta fan. Nothing wrong with that.

Apparently there were some "Vote Zenyatta" buttons floating around at the annual retirement ceremony yesterday. Last year they had an entire racing organization rename a stake in an attempt to grab votes, now they've gone back to the grassroots effort.

Coming to a street corner in Kentucky near you, Seth Hancock wearing "Vote Blame" buttons.

If he did that, he'd get called a chauvinist pig, as some attempted to paint him after he opined that Blame deserved horse of the year in the minutes following the Classic.

Do you mean no mare has ever delivered performance like running Rinterval into the ground, or catching a lead swapping Switch in the shadow of the wire? Or do you mean no HOY who has done so? Uh, within a few years of one another I saw HOY's like Forego, Affirmed and Spectacular Bid hold amazing form over 3 (or more) years. Seattle Slew's career must have slipped your mind as well. More recently Skip Away and Cigar were not just average horses either.
For mares, how about Bayakoa. In 1989 she won the Santa Margarita, the Apple Blossom, the Hawthorne, the Milady and the Vanity by July 15th. She bombed at Del Mar before taking the Ruffian Spinster and Distaff (from the fallen Go For Wand.) I daresay that Colonial Waters, Goodbye Halo, Open Mind and Gorgeous were better than anything Z faced this year excepting St. Trinians and the BCC.

The worst thing that happened to Z was her win streak. once it reached a certain point, she was handled with an eye to making her unbeaten rather than proven. Her to races in the BCC prove that she should have been running in races like the Hollywood Gold Cup, the Big Cap, or travelling to the Personal Ensign or maybe trying grass.
Between the two, I would alway rank Goldikova over Zenyatta. Why? Because while she lost a few races, she always raced at the highest levels. She proved herself time and time again in high quality company.

I love this arguement. No one said everyone isn't entitled to their opinion. But it doesn't mean that people can't agree or disagree with said opinion on a message board. Isn't that the point of these boards? To give our opinions and discuss them?

Being a big fan is fine. Having no perspective about the truly great horses that have come before her is a shame. You can be a fan and be realistic at the same time. At least some can.

Cool

Well said! Thats what this is an opportunity to express your opinion. Along with that should be respect and no need to call anyone names or a ******! The truth is Zenyatta is one of the best. Who knows where she stands because they can't race against one another! Its all someones opinion! However, whats great about horse racing is new horses will come and become part of the elite! Its a great sport! Can't wait to see what happens next year!

The reason we don't know "where Z stands" in terms of all time greatness is because she was not challenged to take on the best runners out there, every time, every race.

If you take "Zenyatta" out of the mix and St Trinians (or "Brown Mare") beats up on Be Fair, Taptam, Rinterval and Switch all year. She never takes on Life at Ten or Unrivaled Belle. NONE of her primary rivals are even considered for a try in the BC Distaff. Now she heads to the Classic and loses, by a head to the best older male in the country. Would anyone in their right mind be considering her for HOY?
