Well, you can have all these slash and burn opinions, but I don't have to dignify them by responding to them.I remember you from ESPN.Your views`are extreme. If I thought a lot of people held your views,I would take the time to go back and forth with you. You're not gunna change. So why bother? If you think it is cool to have monopolies charging anything they want for a necessity(and getting tax breaks too,)then fine.I can't change you.I can only ignore you.

My views are extreme, wow first time i have ever been told that. You know what we just go to communism and that would fix everything. Then everyone could have equal money, wait that never worked and it never will.

Yes,Communism is another extreme view(180 degrees opposite of yours.)Not surprised that you leap from your own extreme to the opposite one.

"ANd I also do not think Republicans RELISH the idea of trying to maintain a small number of very wealthy people and a huge number of poor people."-PGRDN

This is exactly what they want.

Who is too far gone? You are telling me Republicans like to see a large number of poor people? You really believe that. Why? Its horrible for them in the long run. It makes absolutely no sense whatsoever. And Im not even Republican. Just a ridiculous statement.

Simply look at their actions(not their words.)Simply look at the profits that the oil companies are making.Gee,Pgrdn, guess what, that huge profit does hurt poor people more than anyone else.Other people may not like paying for these huge profits, but it doesn't mean they have to go cold or hungry because of it.Has Bush ,and the other Republicans done anything to curtail the taxbreaks for Big Oil,and huge price increases we saw earlier this year? Nope. What about the minimum wage?Gee,guess who fights raising that? Yes,the Republicans(the same ones that you say don't want a large poor # of poor people.)Sure seem to be happier the lower the minimum wage is.Every step of the way,Schwarzeneggar has tried to take funding from poor students trying to go to College in California.Yes,simply judge their actions(not their words.)If you haven't caught on about them doing things to hurt the interests of poor people, then YOU DON'T WANT TO SEE THE OBVIOUS.

Scuds, I dont understand how I have an extreme view. I don't advocate an elitest society where the very few have very much. But, thats the way it turned out. I am by no means rich and gas prices affect , but how can you tell someone whose companies sole purpose is to make money, to not make money. IF they cut the tax breaks, gas won't go lower, in fact it will probably go higher to maintain current profit levels. There are so many other battles to fight this is not even worth it. You want massive tax breaks, check into defense contractors. 30 billion is a drop in the bucket compared to what we have blown on defense projects that have never gotten off the drawing board. Scuds, I'm all about helping poor people but going after fuel companies just isen't the way to do it. For poor people not to be poor, they need to make more money. To make more money they need to be better educated. I applaud your efforts becuase you are passionate about your views, but instead of aritifically raising the poor to the middle class, lets educate them so they can achieve that on their own. I've always been a big fan of "You don't respect anything that you didn't have to work for"

Since when did republicans stop flooding N.O.? Well, I say, Clinton would be outraged! But piss on Clinton because he wasn't a star athlete in his younger days. Go Team Bush!

We're all gonna die! Life sucks! Woe is me.

Skippy, they need competition. It is basically a monopoly. They can charge whatever they want(monopolies do this..) No other business is as unfair to the consumer as this one is allowed to be.Regardless of income, people pay the same amount for gas, therefore poor people are gunna feel the pain the most.It is the classic case of the rich ripping off the poor.Whether it be for transportation,or to heat a house, oil is a necessity(especially in the Winter.)
